The only family Caleb really knows is his grandmother, the lady who raised him, and who was likely the cause for his narcissism. Both his parents were killed in a crash just days after his birth, while taking their new son home. His grandmother often spoke highly of them, telling Caleb he would've turned out just as beautiful if he was raised by them.

Caleb was an excitable child, often the one leading the pack and leading the other kids at school into glorious battles during recess, or so he'd say. In reality, Caleb was dubbed the class clown, and more often than not, the other students were laughing at him. He quickly caught on to laugh along, so it'd seem less like they were laughing at him, and rather with him.

His grandmother knew that when Caleb was old enough, she wouldn't be able to keep him tied to the town, nor to her, and she was well prepared for the day that Caleb finally told her he'd like to get out and see the world. She accepted it, but only with the promise that he'd write to her on occasion and visit during holidays. He's since done better, writing her often, sending her trinkets that he knows she'd like, and sending her the journals he finishes filled with his thoughts from each and every day. She doesn't yet know that he's been stealing to make ends meet.

During his travels, Caleb met many people, made just as many enemies, and got into plenty of trouble. He happened to pick the wrong pocket one day, and found himself at the mercy of a wooden crate until the older companion of his attacker talked him down. The older of the two seemed quite pleasant, especially for Caleb nearly snagging the wallet from the younger one's pocket. Caleb introduced himself, and learned the two were Ace and Royce, brothers, though they looked nothing alike. Caleb didn't bother questioning it, his stomach immediately agreeing with Ace's offer of dinner.

Caleb told them his stories of grandeur, narrow escapes, and romantic doings. While Ace's smile was obviously to humour him, Royce, the younger brother, seemed to cling to every word he said, and Caleb never did pick up on that little crush the other had on him.

Caleb has since settled into life with the brothers, even going so far as to think of them as brothers to him, nearly. He's often wandered by their room and found Royce curled up next to Ace, and felt just a twinge of jealousy. He's never had anyone that close in his life, not near his age, at least, and he often wishes he could snag a spot at Ace's side to see what it's like.

Among the trio, Caleb is the one getting into trouble all the time, and waiting for Ace and Royce to save his butt. He amuses the brothers to no end with his narcissism, and Ace sometimes quietly teases that Caleb's one and only girlfriend is his pocket mirror. He's the one holding everyone up in the morning while he stares at his reflection in the mirror and fixes his hair until it's perfect, and he's also the one creating all their great schemes to snag this or that. He thinks himself the leader of the group.
