New Gift Wrapping!
We\'ve simplified the gift giving process this luminaire by purchasing all of the stock of wrapping paper that the Holiday Shop has! You can now send gifts directly from the gift wrapping center without worrying about finding wrapping paper! We\'re even giving everyone 10,000sP if they redeem their wrapping paper from their inventory, since we aren\'t taking it anymore!
The owners of the holiday shop have taken the sP from the purchase of the remainder of their stock and skipped off to retirement in Veta!

I like this. It's cool. 7500sp isn't bad although I think it could still be a tad cheaper. I think 5000sp would have been a better price. But it's nice there's a random option for cheap (although I think some themed papers should be excluded from it). Maybe there could be a cheap wrapping paper option that isn't random. Like wrapping your gift in used/recycle newspaper and having it be badly taped together. :P

The new feature seems nice and all but does it have to crash Firefox every time I try to come in here XD.
It doesn't seem to be Firefox friendly because it crashes out of the blue and it only does that on this website.
As if the unresponsive script box pop up while viewing your plushie collection from the game room isn't hectic enough ^_^;.

Well, this is disappointing. I can see how it's an attempt at eliminating an item there are thousands of, but I really have always liked hand wrapping an items and matching my paper and present.
I feel like it's an attempt at controlling the economy like removing the mystery box (or making it suck more like) and switching up vending machines, but it's taking things I like about this site and changing them a bit too drastically.

I've collected in excess of 200 gift wrapping, boxes and bags. I'm not turning them in for 10,000sP. I don't like that my choice has been taken away, and some very good points have been made about the flow of sP economy also. I prefer to chose the wrapping I send a gift in, from my own store of it, and not be over charged in the gift center.
Thou I can see some merits to changing the system to this new update like no longer searching for wrapping paper in vaults and a equal price for wrapping paper. I agree more with the people saying boo. I often would send gifts randomly out to unexpecting users and friends with wrapping paper I collected through either quests, the donation center, or vending. Now though to send out the amount that I was it wouldn't be worth it. The choice is just about all gone. Yes you can still choose different wrapping paper but part of the fun was going out and getting just the right type to gift with. Not only that the Subeta economy is going to take a hard hit. Before the prices varied back and forth depending on restocks and store prices so there was a decent flux of both high and regular flow of sp. Now it's going to lower and that trading of sp to user and system is going to slow down and shrink. So even though this new will work I foresee less people using it and after a time a decrease in the sp flowing around the site.
Aside from me hitting myself for dragging my feet on collecting wrapping paper, I think this is a nice feature overall. It'll save time, clear out some clutter, and plus it's nice to have a full selection of paper to choose from.
I think some valid criticism was delivered in the beginning, but at least the feature got tweaked accordingly. I don't think it's so bad.

I think it will save me so much time searching for the right wrapping paper. I will pay 10k to have the choices are right there, and if i want to save, well good luck what paper you get.
Reaaally wishing I had collected more wrapping paper for my gallery before it got mega-inflated. Also wishing I had finished the gift-wrapping achievement before now, cause now it's gonna cost me a Hell of a lot more.
I hate buying wrapping paper, I will happily pay 2.5k to let it randomly choose one for me so I don't have to search for the cheapest wrapping paper. My only issue is with the Genetech combos that need them, so hopefully a reasonable solution is brought up for those.
Would anyone really be so offended to get a morostide giftbox at christmas? Who gives a crap, when they look at the box for all of 5 seconds? The important part is the item/message inside the box, surely.

I don't feel that for the sake of 5k it's even worth worrying about. That's not even 1 minute's work on this site; as much time as it would take you to find the right paper from the user shops.

I disagree about the general butthurt about the wrapping cost, it's perfectly affordable and you'd have to be VERY stingy to claim that's expensive.
However, I'll bring up a question nobody else did... What happens to the genetech items that required wrapping? I still haven't gotten that golden book!

The price is too much. Not only do you take away choice by overcharging for wrapping paper, but take away from the gift someone might give knowing they have to pay for it.
You could also allow the old paper to be grandfathered in.. a LOT of people have saved up for paper all year.

Awww, boo. This means I won't be able to hoard paper all year so that I can do insane amounts of anon-gifting for next Lumi... it's one thing when I've been hoarding all year, but dropping 1k-2.5k (depending on what it is, since the page says both) every time I send a present... well, no. I send about 15-50 anons a day during December, depending on my mood that day and how much stuff I have to clear and how much patience...
That's a lot of sP to have and drop per day, as compared to just digging it out of the vault.

also, in general, i like this change. sp sinks are good in my book, especially inexpensive but often-used ones like this. more like this instead of devaluing quests, please. the redeeming feature is also fantastic as it means a neat profit for me (and for any of you as well if you're up for it, as there are still thousands of wrapping papers significantly under 10k on the market but there won't be for long!)

I also have over 450 pieces of wrapping paper in my vault and I really don't want to take the time to redeem it all. I don't care if that's a lot of sp and all I really wish there was a mass redeem button if you want me to get rid of all of that.

Also, why is everyone complaining about what the wrapping paper looks like? You can choose what wrapping paper you want for crying out loud. Just click on the style and color you want but if you dont know what to send, the site will choose for you.
Why is everyone upset? You can still use whatever wrapping paper you want. I think it's much better this way because you dont have to worry about getting wrapping paper and instead of going through three pages of this you only go through two pages. And you can choose right there what you want. To me, 7,000 or 8,000 is nothing compared to what else you would send. Change must happen. Of course most people don't like things to change.
people are "crying" about the 7.5k cost to choose the paper because oh, I dunno I like to not send a Morostide gift box during Luminaire or I have friends who hate certain colors, so I don't want to chance their gift getting wrapped in that color paper. For me personally, I like to use a paper that I feel the person will like or that fits the theme of the gift. I also have friends who (like me) are pagan and would not like to receive a gift wrapped in crosses. So yeah...being pushed to pay 7.5k just to make sure that we don't end up sending a completely inappropriately wrapped gift to someone is a pain and is worth complaining about. I enjoyed matching up the paper/box with the gift or the person it was going to and feel that this change in the way gifts are wrapped is not adding anything to the site and is instead taking away something that many enjoyed.Many others have pointed out the pitfalls of the Genetech combos and also how it doesn't confirm the person's name once the gift is sent, so I won't delve back into those other than to say "yep, I agree".
There's a nice workaround for wrapping paper, and thanks for that, but what about the Greeting Cards that restocked there? Their rarity remains the same so it looks as though they didn't retireAre they restocking somewhere else, and if so, where?

And to think that my favorite wrapping paper was 900sp in shops. Not going to spend 7500 everytime I want to send something, considering I (used to) send gifts through the gift center quite a lot ;_;

THIS IS THE WORST IDEA EVER, I really enjoyed looking and buying themed wrapping paper for gifting my friends. I dont know why you would mess with something that has been working just fine, and now the fact of how do we buy items to make for gen tech? because everyone knows those prices are going to sky rocket....... Been hoarding wrapping paper for years now...have hundreds of them. HUNDREDS! If I even wanted to redeem them ( which I don't ) I WOULD HAVE TO REDEEM THEM ONE AT A TIME and it takes way too much time and too many 'clicks'. Why didn't you use the same code you used for the fragmentizer so that we could redeem all at once and be done with it. This is not one of your best business decisions you've made and I doubt it will have positive effects on the economy of the site. Why not make it optional? Doesn't it make sense to offer your customers options that best fit their needs? I'm keeping my wrapping paper for now, if I want to send a gift I will just drop in their inventory. You eliminated stockings, you wrecked the Mystery Box, vending has totally been destroyed, now you have ruined Christmas ( and any gift giving occasions ) by screwing up the wrapping center. I love the idea of not having to buy wrapping paper before going to send a gift! However, I agree that 10K is too steep as-is. A random paper option for 1K is nice, but IMHO not very useful if you are sending a gift for a certain holiday or a birthday. Might I suggest adding a slightly more expensive (maybe 2-4K?) option to choose a random paper of a certain theme/line as well? Like for people that just want to send a birthday gift but don't want it to come in a Morostide box or Luminaire paper.

I'm buying mass amounts of wrap at 4k each, 'using' them to gain 10k. 6k profit PER wrap! And I'm not ever using the gift wrap center! Pure profit! I'll throw stuff at my friends' trees, or send it to them in trades. Way to help me make a huge profit, Subeta. Glad I thought to go find the cheapest wraps and buy them by the dozens.
I dislike this. I hate the significant price increase just to send a wrapped gift. I will not pay that much to use it.
@honey_bear - it shows you all paper available not all paper you own. It doesn't take paper from your account so it's ok.

- you took the fun out of going out and buying it yourself.
The one thing I don't like is that paper/boxes you have in galleries shows up for you to pick from. Most of the time, people put things in galleries because WANT to keep them.
