Ornament Contest!
It\'s beginning to look a lot like Luminaire! We love seeing the clever things you\'ve done with your trees on Subeta so much that we want to see what you\'ve got to show us of your own. This time, we\'re having an ornament creating contest! Show us your Subeta themed ornament, and staff will vote to pick their top three favorites. Winning ornaments will be drawn into real Subeta items that are able to be placed on your trees.
Rule Breakdown:
- You must make a real, tangible ornament. You can use absolutely any media you wish, so this should appeal to almost all of you. Knit, draw, sculpt, paint, you name it!
- Your ornament has to be Subeta-themed.
- Your photo MUST include a sign that says "Luminaire 2014." Any entries without this sign will be disqualified. We want to make sure all entries were created by you! If you forget your sign, the entry page will allow you to re-upload your image including it.
- You\'re allowed to use existing ornaments as part of your creation. For example, adding ears and painting a face on a bauble. However, the more creative you are the better. Remember, staff will be voting on them!
- Include a title and description (500 characters or fewer) that you would want to be used for the on-site item should your ornament win.
You can enter your ornament until end of day December 14th. The winning ornaments will be released shortly thereafter. :blush:
Winners will receive a copy of their ornament and 2000 CSC! All entrants will get a Luminaire prize pack, an achievement, and a forum title!

Just submitted mine today. The upload bit didn't work for me so I linked the image from another site like it said, hope that works...
@Zarra I hope it means the sign can be next to or in front of the ornament as it says it has to be included in the photo not specifically on the ornament, because that's what I did. Just submitted mine. My ornament isn't that great because I work full time so only had 1 day to get it done and my stupid digital camera isn't working so had to take the photo with my cell phone. Anxious to see the winners and get new ornaments for our trees.
Question about adding the sign... can this be a separate paper placed next to the item created or does the "Luminaire 2014" lable have to actually be on (or a part of) the ornament itself?

mmm, does it have to be all red and greenish. That wasn't really a question, like I'm sure it doesn't, but I feel like it has to be wintery somehow because of Luminaire/Christmas. It's going to be a project just to figure out what to do, too many ideas! D:
If drawing is allowed, does that I mean I can be cheap and just draw something on paper and be basic? |D I doubt using my tablet would work, being it's not truly tangible.
I always wanted to take part in one of the previous contests, but I was never able to enter (no pumpkin carving without missing a finger, no baking without burning down the house, making a CW probably wouldn't have worked in Paint, ...), but this one I WILL TRY! It will be bad, really bad, but I will try my best and have fun along the way! Those participant prizes are mine! :D

:o Well now. Guess what I had just finished making yesterday? I knitted a Glacier Lain. No, it wasn't suppose to be an ornament but I can turn it into one.
I totally regretted not taking part in the pumpkin event, but I have a perfect idea for this one already - Hopefully I can make it work ;3; thinks of craft fail pictures
I have the artistic and creative skills of a mushroom so I won't be taking part, but I can't wait to see all the entries!!

Holy smokes, this sounds like fun. I've never felt inclined to do an online contest where crafting a tangible item is involved before, but subeta has too many neat things. Chances are I can make a keepsake (or two)!

Myuu that is terrible :( Nothing that makes you happy should ever be considered "useless". Life is too short...decorate it and make it pretty!
