The Rift
In my circuit this year, I came across something unusual, and quite spectacular. A rift in space and time. Now, there are few that may remember something like this happening before - and the trouble it caused! I have spent some time checking on the stability of this rift. It seems that it cannot be entered fully by humanoid creatures. You can toss things in - items, currency. The returns are...interesting sometimes. I believe this rift is safe to interact with, although only once per person, per day.

- This will be here all year round, it's not tied to the Masquerade holiday.
- There is code in place to prevent you from filling the pet slot you freed when you yeeted your pet into the Rift.

@Amber I noticed that after sending a pet into the Rift, it frees up a slot while my pet is on the NPC account. Is there something in place to stop people filling up that slot? I imagine this could cause problems if someone didn't realise and filled it with a new pet!

They've been transferred to the NPC The Rift account for now. Yes they'll be given back to us at some point, staff have already confirmed they're not gone forever, we just don't know exactly how long it will take to get them back. And yeah, the rift color is just speculation at the moment. I know a lot of people have requested a rift-themed color before, so lots of people are hopeful. But we honestly don't know for sure what is going to happen yet.

Put in a minion and got ice cream float. Too bad it's only once a day, interested to see what throwing in different items gets you. And pets can be tossed in also? Uh no, not risking any of mine. Did the ones that were thrown in just disappear?
When you only need to ponder for half a second what you're throwing in a weird rip in reality. You tossed your Fire Extinguisher into the rift and a moment of calm is followed by a flash of red lightning, before the rift shoots out Oops!!
The good news is when I get a new pet slot in a month, we'll know what the new rift colour looks like.

I didn't even notice I could toss Items or sP in there, I just threw Presage into the void and now I'm scared lol

FWIW, I threw in 5,000sP (because I'm a chicken) and got three-thousand some back. Considering the riftnapped pets and ALL THE BRAS I'm going to call that a success. :grinning:

I was tempted to throw in StarPlatinum in case this is going to be a new color thing, but at the same time, I'm not sure I want to try. So I just threw in a

twitches URSA MAJOR!!! I had her go in and she disappeared...looked at my pet listing and shes not there, did a search and it says shes owned my The Rift now! Gimme back my girl!!
My bet is that the special item is a Turnip or a Turnip Warrior. Because it would be funny.
