Chibi Urubu!

A small marshmellow puff friend....

@Jasper I'm going to make my urubu this and just overlay it with brown or something, tbh. which is the wonder of overlays at least since I sometimes find new releases of colors/species to be perfect in looks but my idea of color preference for it is different. I'm not the greatest with photoshop but I make what color changes I want or get someone else to do it and call it a day. I need this chibs for my zodiac collection, it's made up my mind that I want my Chinese zodiacs to be chibi :joy: but pink wouldn't suit, brown or gold depending which way I go with my zodiacs. or Jade... I can't make up my mind :sob:

Pretty cute pet! I'm saddened it doesn't have its common colouring as that would be amazing but I expected the dawn would've become more popular though.

@Jasper
All of that is preference. As I said, you may dislike things to your hearts desire. But stating personal desire as a fact just doesn't work, and people pointing that out isn't an attack on you.
I, personally, think sweetheart should be the default coloration for every chibi and the experiments to be done in that color scheme, but that's me, not a fact, and I understand that I'm not the one in control.
So, I am sorry you cannot control the art department, but you have free control over your pets and getting an overlay to fit your own personal tastes.

I do read people's replies @julian. I just opted to not bother replying to anyone since sharing my initial opinion resulted in, well, this. Why add fuel to that fire? It's not something I really want to fight about but since a lot of you are confused, I'll go ahead and post a follow up:
@Muerte
-Could've fooled me, evidence below.
-You got me on that one
-I'm aware of that. These have never come off as chibi though. They come off more like actual babies.
-Yeah but not that fat. This piggy looks ready for fair.
-I just think this would be cuter if it was brown, like the basic or like the baby boar I pictured.
-I know that but they're not so far removed from their parents that they look to be a different species. This one looks like the baby of the dawn urubu, (which isn't an issue anymore.)
-I know but black wouldn't have looked as cute so I didn't mention it
I've got to admit, I'm a bit peeved that people are making it out to be just me because they can't understand why I didn't like this being pink (sorry for having a preference) but apparently, it's a common enough mistake that it needs to be corrected often:

If it's that much of a problem, why not either concede and rename them as baby pets or draw these things as proper chibis that aren't infantilized so much?The "chibi art style" is a style of drawing a character as small, with distorted proportions. Not a kid/baby version. Staff have noted more than once that the color isn't meant as the baby version.

@innamoramento
I was just explaining chibi/Subeta's intent a bit. Chibi can be misinterpreted easily no matter what though.
I did note that Subeta's chibi style isn't as extreme, but it must have been accidentally highlighted and eaten up in a sentence revision, OOP. Oh well.
But yeah, Subeta's style isn't strict to traditional chibi, and a few are also done as a fun joke. For instance, both the chibi and graveyard Mallarchy don't follow the "norm" and are done as fun variations.
And while Subeta's intention is to be super cutesy and chibi, but a user sees it and goes "this is perfect for my baby pet" like, that's perfectly fine.

@Ossuary i find the upper curve, maybe a bit high.. or maybe it's too obvious, and it would have looked better as a dark shade of pink instead, i guess?.. meh, it's not like it matters a lot if the line is correct or not, and i appreciate you took the time to explain it to me. The eyes look fine to me, so that's not what i find off....
@Muerte if chibi is meant to be distorted, that's fine by me ;p just that all the other chibi pets look like baby versions of the pets. And i also thought many other users thought the same. it doesn't make much of a difference to me either way.
I have nothing against the color choice, just to be clear - this chibi urubu makes me think of a baby pig/piglet (not boar), and i've seen many pink piglets. therefore, i think the chosen color is perfect ;p (i also want to say that i was/am not siding with Jasper or anyone else, i was voicing my opinion.)

@innamoramento the snout is the right shape, i think! the foreshortening and/or angle just makes it look a little funny, but the snout is meant to follow the shape of the nose (so, like a rounded wedge). maybe it's the line under its left eye throwing you off?

Aaand finally there's a piggy version I know I'd like to change a certain pet of mine into.

You don't even know what chibis are lol I know you didn't read anyone's replies and you won't read mine but wow. And this is a virtual pet site and Urubus aren't actual boars?? So they can be whatever colour people want them to be??? None of your complaints are valid and they don't even make sense.

In case anyone needs clarification:
Chibi (ちび or チビ) is a Japanese slang word describing something short (a thing, an animal or a person). ... This style of artwork, also known as super deformed (shorthanded as SD), has since found its way into anime and manga fandom through its usage in manga works.
Ideally, the ratio between the body and the head should be 1:1 or 1:4, the head being the bigger part, and the legs being distinctively short.

i haven't seen anyone mention how "angelic" is italicized; perhaps we'll be getting an angelic version sometime soon? just a speculation
this is super cute though omg <3

I mean, all manga and anime styles have larger heads but chibi is more distinct.
If someone whose art style is more manga-inspired can explain this better, please do.

OMGOSH! how can it be so adorable?? i think i may have to turn one of my pets into one~~~~
is it just me or its nose/snout has a bit of a weird curved line? shouldn't it be more straight? /im not good with anatomy, especially of animals, so i hope im not saying something very weird.
@Jasper: that baby boar you showed is soooooo cute!!!!
@Muerte: i was under the impression that on subeta, the chibi pets are like baby/"youngling" versions of the "regular" ones. In a way like Sailor Chibi Moon is a kid version of Sailor Moon.... (and if i'm not mistaken, "chibi" even means "little" in Japanese, with the interpretation of small or young/kid, and that in manga/anime, kids are sometimes shown with much larger heads than teens or adults.)

Great artwork. I wish it would had a darker color. Now it looks like Piglet from Winnie the Pooh.

Like my chibi army wasn't big enough already...
I guess there's always room for one more! :heart:

Subeta version of Wilbur from Charlotte's Web or just an adorable pink piggie thingie, it's still cute!!!!

@Jasper
You may dislike anything you desire, but you've got some things mixed up there.
-Chibi isn't baby, so it's not a baby boar
-Chibi isn't always the same color as the common
-Chibi is noted as having a larger head, it's a mark of chibi
-Boars are fat, like, they have pot bellies even when squeakers.
-Why can't it be pink, that's... Moving on.
-Not all boars are the same color, and not all are born brown
-Black is actually more common than brown in the wild
