Millionaire Center: Whiteout Pens

can there be a head one too?

@Kaiidth Ah, when I've tried to commission those, people have told me they won't do it but not said that it was a rule.
I want animal-evolved but not fur-covered semi-digitigrade legs and feet with claws and no tail; I also want a thylacine butt but they had long, slender tails. They were marsupials and had thin, muscular tails with short fur. There is nothing in the thylacine evolutionary pathway that would give you a giant plush tail you could stick flowers in. I've never understood what the issue was, because sure it won't cover the HA base, but that doesn't mean you can't put something under it that will!
If they'll let us do it now because these background-killing abominations exist, so be it--there are better ways to fix that problem, though.

@Kaiidth was there a reason we couldn't before, other than artists not wanting to do them? Because frankly, most people that use booties do use backgrounds, and there was never ever anything stopping us from layering them on top of items like skirts, then putting shorter skirts, long coats, etc, on top of them.

Wardrobe usage aside, I actually think the item image/name they went with is clever and super creative. I'm gonna have to get for my crafty themed pet's treasure chest. For all those times they've tried to draw a figure and went, wait no that's not right, and had to erase.

There's not a way to make parts of the HA base actually transparent unless they split the base up into pieces that can be hidden behind backdrops or release pieces like the sheer gloves that could replace individual HA parts
With regards to the thumb, unless a piece of clothing (mainly skirts or repositioned/animal limbs) already covers the HA's left hand, the thumb is always going to show because clothes have been drawn around the hand with the way the HA base works (and even with a different workaround that doesn't create the white space, there will at least be a hole in the clothing where it was drawn around the thumb). There are limitations with the way HAs work that there may not necessarily be an elegant fix for at this point

@Moran I'm hosed because I always, always, always use backgrounds except when it's Masquerade and the coding that suppresses them on the dance floor is not working.
But there are items that cover the hand (which is why we have those "sheer gloves") and any of those would cover the thumb notch.

I wanted to make a HA with the missing arm but sadly the thumb shows over the clothes and that looks really weird. :c

These need some work, definitely, but I'm so thrilled by the prospect of what it indicates about what you're prioritizing with HA's. I so.appreciate that you're indulging users that love to get experimental with layering and backdrops!

I'm really hoping this is just a temporary fix for a problem that staff has hinted will have a fix in the next wardrobe for.
If this is the 'solution' we've been told to wait for... This is just incredibly limiting and disappointing. These can definitely be used while we wait, but I hope a real solution IS in the works.

i get the use for these, and as much as i'm always wanting to get rid of limbs-
i feel that maybe instead of hiding limbs this way, as they won't work on anything with a bg, could the base not simply be snipped into seamless, separate parts that are able to be toggled off and on in the wardrobe? like hiding layers in a drawing program. it wouldn't require a base redraw at all, and from a technical angle it seems like it wouldn't be that hard to implement (although admittedly being that i'm not a coder, i don't actually know if that's true)

Kudos to people who have figured out uses for this, I sure haven't. My biggest complaint is that it looks sort of messy. Especially the thumb left over. Like, couldn't it have just been completely erased and the base redrawn in that tiny spot? Though I suppose it could be noticeable if they did that in itself.
Anyway, it's great for people who are gonna figure out how to use it, just not something for me.

Maybe it's because I just woke up but I'm utterly confused on how you're meant to use these. Can anyone do an example? All I see are giant white blobs that are very out of place now that subeta stopped doing cutout backgrounds.

absolutely overjoyed by these, especially the feet ones! looking forward to having some time in the wardrobe to play around with them c:
I don't think I can use these. I'm interested in seeing what the more creative people will do c:

None for the head? Bummer. I have no idea how I'd use these but with Morostide coming up, I'm sure someone will figure out a really clever way to use them.

Kinda disappointed there isn't one for the head. I'm sure I'll come up with a use for these some day.

? Thank you, Subeta, now all I’m gonna think about at work today is how I’m gonna use these. Seeet idea.

Shoes feel a bit too tight?
Jacket just not fitting right?
I've got the solution to your plight!
Let's start by cutting off your limbs tonight! :D
...
The things people do in the name of fashion on this site. hahaha.
& thanks for making them millionaire center items so that everyone has a fair shot at editing the base~ ♥️

Panics over what I could use these for I know the possibilities are endless, but what!? My imagination is imploding.

Can we also have a version that white-outs the awkward fabric between the legs, please? These look useful and I need to think how to use them all lol.

@Linnet That may be so, but I'm not sure that, for instance, if I wanted to use cat legs that weren't accompanied by an incredibly unrealistic tail almost as wide as my head, that having white blobs over the background behind those legs would be any better than having the HA base legs show.
(I really want cat legs without a giant tail. But people don't want to make them even if you explain that you understand perfectly that they won't cover the HA base legs, which is why you're going to layer a long skirt, coat, cape or bustle without cutouts behind the cat legs.)
