@StarShadow- I just found out this past evening that we have a confirmed case in my county, too. My husband carpools quite far to work each day, and in that county, they've already got 28 cases. I was thinking that since that area now has a 'stay at home' order... the factory he works at would close for awhile. But no... he's still got to go to work, because apparently they are classified as an 'essential business'. How, I'm not sure.
Anyhow, we felt like at least we were safe in the evenings here at home, but now finding out there has been a confirmed case here, too, I feel a little like we are living in the twilight zone. We'll all get through this... somehow.

I wasn't overly concerned until today when I found out there is a confirmed case in my town, which is a rural area with no tourists or large airport. But I can't stay home unless the office where I work tells me to. Anyway, what happened to the promised excitement in the news post? Is that still coming up?

Dont worry bro, its alright. I understand all the frustration and see it everywhere. I know im not an expert with diseases and I honestly wish I could stay home. Our country is not gonna lock down but they closed schools, lots of jobs etc and all the people are just outside making noise, having fun like they dont take anything seriously. Children see it as summerbreak and here I am working in the night. Now suffering lack of sleep. You know I wish they did lock it down completely. Im sorry too, kinda frustrated with all this also, hope you stay safe too! And everyone else

@seperatist bro.. thats not why they're locking things down. its to slow the spread because there literally aren't enough hospital beds and respirators. please visit the CDC website, do some research, and figure out the following: what is herd immunity? how do diseases work? what is a pandemic? how come china is recovering so well? i understand having to work, i don't blame you. stay informed and protect the people at risk by staying at home as much as possible.

Good, then dont "attack" people because they are not entitled to your opinion.
I work in a power plant and I dont see us sitting home. Yes we must protect the old and the weak, I never said everyone must build up immunity. But locking down everything until a vaccin is made is in my opinion overdramatic. Locking down everything for 3 weeks for example wil not magically make the virus disappear.
I know from myself that I am strong against such things and go outside and go to work. But if I knew I.was weak

It's perfectly understandable that you feel the need to still go to work, but it's really frustrating to hear someone say that this is overblown and people just need to build up immunity. For some folks, that might work. The problem is that you could possibly transmit it to someone with a chronic health issue who has a messed up immune system. Someone like me, for example.

They leave a basket with the shopping list/some money in on the doorstep and the kids (or I ) get them, do the shopping and then leave the shoppong (with money) on the doorstep, ring and leave to the other side of the street, just to make sure, the people get their shopping.

I will restart working in my job as social worker in a retirement home on thurstday (yeah)

Being an older player I'm a little anxious with what's going on in the world. Being on a severely limited income doesn't help when so many folks out there are buying needed necessities off the shelves. I had to actually beg neighbours for a few spare rolls of TP and assistance with small things like soups and bread even since all these were not to be found at any store I went to. Very sad that so many people feel they are better than others... makes me wonder why I get out of bed some days!
Anyhoo... stay safe/healthy, folks! Keep your chin up and hopefully this mess will all calm down soon. Virtual hugs to everyone... and I'm looking forward to seeing some fun artwork to commemorate this wild ride we're travelling through.

This worldwide panic and buying the whole supply of TP just shows how dirty most people are.
If you have a roof over your head, don't worry about lack of TP: just wash your butt after you use the toilet ;) Since you'll be staying home, it doesn't matter if you spend 5 more minutes in the bathroom ;)
if you don't have a roof over your head, then the above doesn't apply to you unless you can somehow wash your bum once you're done with the toilet. - say by having a small bottle with water with you in the cubicle.

I live in Iowa where they have just closed schools for at least the next four weeks. I am a grandmother who is raising my granddaughter, We rely heavily on the free breakfast and lunch programs to make our grocery budget last all month long. Now we have to come up with an extra 40 meals over the next month because those free breakfast and lunches wont be provided for her. I am so worried about where that extra income for groceries is going to come from now. In addition to everyday stress and the stress of the pandemic. Something exciting and fun on this site would be a very very welcomed distraction. Thank you

Stay safe everyone! And for those in need of basics like TP/dried goods/cleaners, right now is an excellent time to get acquainted with your local Asian grocery market. In my neck of the woods it was pointed out that all the racist xenophobes won't shop there right now, so they're still fully stocked with everything from food to household cleaners and paper products. And they can really use the financial support right now due to the lack of business many are seeing.

This is AWESOME, providing us entertainment, since it's not like we can go out and have fun! Thank you all for planning this. It's a great way to help!
I'm a healthcare worker, and I have something to add to the list of excellent advice here. Here goes:
One of the most important things that you can do right now to keep yourself, your friends, your family and your colleagues healthy is to make sure that you are getting your information about the situation from reliable sources.
Get your information from places like the CDC, the World Health Organization, Medscape/WebMD, UCSF, and the Mayo Clinic.
There are a lot of misleading articles out there on the internet, in newspapers and in magazines. A lot of them are getting shared on Facebook and other social media sites. Most of these articles are unintentionally misleading, like the article that reported that anti-inflammatory and steroidal medications have the potential to make COVID-19 infections worse.
These medications can weaken the immune system, and OTC NSAIDs probably shouldn't be your first choice to treat a respiratory infection right now. But people who have prescriptions for these medications really need to keep taking them, because keeping chronic health conditions under control is vitally important. If your doctor has prescribed these medications, the benefits to you outweigh the risks.
Other articles have been written by people who are trying to use the panic over COVID-19 to serve their own agendas. For instance, you are not more likely to get COVID-19 if you eat meat, because none of the animals that are known to carry it are normally eaten as food.
Now is not the time to eliminate an entire food group from your diet or stop taking prescription medications unless your doctor, who knows you, explicitly says that you should.

here in northern germany they are closing down all public buildings, schools, kindergardens, museums, swimming pools etc. many things are not available in the shops, in pharmacies disinfectants are only rationed, all events are now cancelled, soccer games and other sports events take place without viewers, old people's homes have been closed for relatives, in hospitals only 1 person per day for 2 hours. visit the sick and only with in and out control, little by little the borders are closed around my (mio) city, the numbers of the newly infected in china are decreasing, a good news, now we just have to try to stay healthy for the next weeks. wash your hands a lot, while coughing and sneezing PLEASE THE FACE IN THE ELLENBOW, think of the one in front of you !! it is really icky when your foreman sneezes his brain into your face... buying hamsters is no use and only harms us, a small supply should be enough and neighbours can help each other. who can help should stay at home if possible.

Keep safe, everyone! But please DO NOT HOARD! Having emergency supplies for a couple weeks is fine but nobody needs 100s of rolls of tp. Also, PLEASE PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING! Don't take trips just because it's cheap and don't scoff at attempts to protect people. Even if YOU won't get sick or die you can spread the illness to vulnerable people (even if you're asymptomatic!). You should care about other people's wellbeing.
