aw i really like these, great job! c:
Maniac
the only thing i'm surprised about is that nobody in the thread mentioned ace discourse
Desilyna
Cool! But where's the hetero pride sash?
Aline
I'm very happy to see all those Pride sashes! They aren't flags, but they're very fashionable still! Bought the Ace and Enby ones first for personal reasons, but I want all of them <3
Sovereign
not at all surprised about where the comments section went, lol
but i am very happy to see these!! i bought the trans + pride ones immediately
Arte
Hellz yeah!
theeleanorvance
@Silverfish Oh cool! I couldn't see that, my bad.

My point about wishing the sash could be a "gay pride" flag still stands, though. :)
Silverfish
@theeleanorvance If you look at the item's overlay it does actually have 8 colors, not 6 ;)
theeleanorvance
@Pie Actually, the rainbow flag we know of today is not the first pride flag! The first ever pride flag was a rainbow, but it had a hot pink stripe at the top. The pink was removed from later iterations of the flag because the fabric for it was too difficult to find.

Gilbert Baker created the first ever pride flag specifically for gay people, since up until then the only symbol the gay community possessed and used to represent themselves was the pink triangle, which came from a history of atrocity and death. Pride was "gay pride" until the 1980s, when it became "LGB" pride, and then later "LGBT" pride in the 1990s.

Of course the growth of our community and its evolution is a good thing! But since you are claiming historical accuracy while saying things that are not true, I wanted to point out that yes, the rainbow flag was created as a symbol of gay liberation.

Every other identity and orientation gets their own unique sash to themselves here, so why doesn't homosexuality? That is why I was confused. While the rainbow flag is commonly used as a representation of our entire community nowadays, I do feel it would be nice to acknowledge its origins and current usage as a specific representation of pride for gay individuals. :)

definitely wish i could wear more than one, but i am going with what i believe i know to be true about myself. i know there is a lot of debate going on in this comment section rn but i just want to say i love you all no matter what. please do your part to educate one another, be patient with one another, and be kind to one another. we are, hopefully, learning; all of the time. thank you subeta, and @Pie, for these sashes. they are beautiful, just like everyone here.
marvel
THEY'RE ALL SO BEAUTIFUL

Thank you for making these!
Keet
Also, thank you to those who let us know it is okay to wear the pride sash as an ally. I am a hetero demisexual, but I support and respect people of all genders and orientations. <3 I also just love rainbow colors, but would not want to be rude wearing something meant for those of another orientation. :-)
Pie
@theeleanorvance because i colour dropped directly from the original pride flag from the 70s, which was created for the first pride. c: the pride flag is all encompassing and not just 'gay' pride. in this house we're accepting of everyone and respect the history behind our community ♥
MamaBear
Thank you, @Pie and staff for all of these! My closeted RL ass tripped over itself to throw together an HA even though I'm a bit nervous about it... even here.

I am genuinely curious, though, if this is going to cause doggiling in the long run when someone who simply appreciates the art (but is cis/hetero) uses them. I'd like to think that we, as a community, are better than that. Then again, after the vegan debates... shrugs
theeleanorvance
Why isn't the rainbow one a "gay pride" sash and is just a "pride sash"?

A little disappointed that the lesbian sash is the femme lesbian flag only as well, but lesbians don't have any good flags of our own anyway, so that's just how it is, I guess. :')

While BDSM has nothing to do with kinks (or for the most part), it isn't an orientation either.
You are not attracted to BDSM. You are attracted to your dom or your sub, which can be a male, female, none, all.
You can scene with every type of people.

Leather isn't a sexuality, nor an orientation nor a gender. I don't see why it should be included here?
RenaissanceRagged
im just happy subeta supports pride, i bought the lesbian one as fast as my mouse could take me. thank you so much subeta!!
Pie
@Ivyana maybe i am! but hey, we'll all learn something new every day. there are plenty of things within the community that apply to some but not others, and that's cool! but for the time being yes. i'll continue to talk out my ass because for this kind of pride it's veering away from sex as an action and over to sexuality and gender (or lack thereof) as an identity. I don't know how to say i don't agree without sounding like a jerk. but someone else asked for 'bear' pride flags as well. and i just don't see where those intersect with what i've made here. what you're talking about seems more like an addition on top of what's already here. not begrudging those people by any means, since pride is beautiful no matter the direction it comes from. but i will step in and say it isn't the same as oh i dont know people being fired for being trans. the representation for that section is a non-issue in my eyes and i'd like for that perception to change, sure. but at the same time please understand the views from outside of your circle. you want a LEATHER pride flag and want to talk about my talkative farts like i'm ignorant when....the pride your asking for in itself leads to kink talk.
far

That's the reason why we can't have nice things l m a o.
Maniac
@Ivyana
@Pie said the leather fetish pride flag is getting on site in the next batch of sashes alongside with the sash for people who are exclusively attracted to anime characters. we'll have to wait for that #representation just a bit longer, friend.
Rudolfa
my only complaint is i can't wear two at once (altho nb and lesbian flags clash badly)! ? idk if yall are planning it, but i'd love more of these in different styles! like a backdrop or cape.
Evanesce
Kinks are not pride and lgbtqia people do NOT need that tied to them, thank you very much. In case people MISSED the past three years of fierce kickback against kinks at pride events because children go to them or anything like that.
TOKYO
Thank you for that! I need two HAs to use both the pan and nb sashes
Ivyana
@Pie You do realize that roles in S&M are identities to people right? it's not just kinks and fetishes and you seem to think. I don't know if you are speaking out of your behind or just not knowledgeable enough on the subject.
Lids
Anyways I'm tired of the whiny cis het people. My wife is trans and was recently fired for bs reasons after she told the wrong manager she planned on going on to HRT soon. We deal with people denying her gender and my sexuality daily. If I, a lesbian, get asked about my "boyfriend" one more time by someone who knows she's a girl...
Suzaku
I'm torn. I want to wear some of them because of the colors, but not because of what they represent...
Lids
yay I bought the lesbian one
Pie
@Ivyana i LEGIT can't tell if you're joking or not! these are pride flags for sexualities and identities, not kinks! were it for that i'd have drawn myself one for monster fuckers.
Dami
Ahhh! I need the ace sash so badly, but I just spent my QP. RIP me. XD
Time for some questing!
Ivyana
*sash I meant to say.
Jack
Of COURSE the "hetero pride" people showed up. Of COURSE. It's not like EVERY DAY IS HETERO PRIDE DAY considering EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK YOU SEE HETEROSEXUALITY and it's treated as the "default"! Just stop whining! You are NOT discriminated against and I'm 100% okay with you people feel uncomfortable because LGBTQ+ people feel uncomfortable EVERY SINGLE DAY being treated the way we are. LGBT pride exists because we've been treated badly for thousands of years and even now tons of countries have anti-LGBT laws and even those that allow same-sex marriage still have tons of people who are anti-LGBT. NO country discriminates against heterosexuals! NONE! Stop whining!
Ivyana
Why isn't there a leather pride flag? It seems people leave this one out a lot.
Lenna
Made me so happy to see these when I logged in today :') Thanks so much Staff/ Quentin/ Pie!!
Pie
hey everyone i drew these and wanna POP IN QUICKLY! i know there are some not included, and that's more me having to pick and choose so there weren't 1000 of them! as for hetero pride....that doesn't exist! if you want to be an ally to the community then dawn the original rainbow pride flag. it shows acceptance and covers ALL the bases! the original pride flag was made with colours representing what unites everyone in the community. sometimes it's better to show support for those struggling than to ask for more for yourself! HAPPY PRIDE.

I am picking up those bi and ace sashes IMMEDIATELY
Mackenzi
Y'all can also just wear the pride sash if you really want. "Show your colors, whatever they may be!" So there you go. Wear rainbow.
Ambition
@Homulilly
At least you were understanding, patient, and nice about it. Sometimes people just don't understand because they are fully accepting and don't realize there is that much hate. :( I don't have social media (I literally only have subeta) and am disabled so I can't go out in the world hardly at all. So it is not something I get to experience unless someone tells me about it.
Ashei
@Ambition - No worries! Glad I could help. c:
Faber
If anyone needs one of these but doesn't have the quest points just leave me a comment <3
Ambition
@Silverfish @Homulilly
Well, now I understand - I was quite confused about it all. I do tend to live under a rock most of the time. I have never really thought about it that much because I just accept everyone for who they are without drama or dislike - what you are saying does make sense to me now. Thank you for opening my eyes to that.
Maniac
yall it's not unnatural for hetero people to feel left out or ask why they don't get something
be nice
Silverfish
If you just want to show your support for the LGBT community while not being part of it I believe flying the rainbow flag as a symbol of solidarity is customary.
demon
@cAIn the noise i made
eye
Here I made an overlay ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Silverfish
Oh for crying out loud, we've already been over this once in this comment thread...

@Ambition
It exists, and there is at least one more variant that is basically a black to white gradient of stripes BUT the thing is 'heterosexual pride' has some very unfortunate connotations with anti-lgbt groups, so bringing it up comes across as... pretty damn uncool.
Ashei
I tried to make a sad face, and Subeta turned it into an angry emoji. ;__; Sorry about that! It was supposed to be a sad frown, not an angry face!
Ashei
@Ambition - The "Pride" movement started as a way for LGBT+ people to take a stand against oppression. Even today, LGBT+ people are discriminated against, fired, kicked out of their homes, assaulted, or even killed for not being cis/straight. :[ Pride is supposed to be a way for those people to come together, be happy about who they are, and carry on that stand against systematic oppression.

That's why there's no "straight pride", even though there is a heterosexuality flag-- it's just not needed. Straight Pride would be the equivalent of seeing wheelchair/disabled parking spaces and saying "But why can't we have able-bodied spaces?": The whole rest of the parking lot is able-bodied parking spaces. Most of the world is cis/straight, and people aren't abused and discriminated against for that (barring Internet trolls) like LGBT+ people are. :'0

I would definitely support some kind of "Ally" or pin or sash, though!! And nobody, straight or otherwise, should feel ashamed of their sexuality. But I don't think "straight pride" itself really fits into a movement that's supposed to be standing against systematic mistreatment and oppression. ;;
Mackenzi
Anyway grabs a
Pan Pride Sash
Yes the perfect thing. Thank you for these fantastic sashes for pride month.
eye
+1 vote for that being the hetro flag.
