Custom Clothing: Clarification on Submission Limit

Fashion Police Whistle

As announced back in January, there is a strict limit of ten times you may submit the same custom clothing item for approval. This protocol has been slightly amended.

Effective immediately, if your item is submitted and denied ten (10) times, any further submission of the item (including edits and recolors) will be automatically denied.

The good news is that very few of your submissions have hit the ten-submission limit, but unfortunately we have noticed those that have are later resubmitted in a recolor and/or with a new name, starting the entire ten-step process all over again negating the point of giving a final denial which is to save time so we can get to the rest of the queue in a more timely fashion. Once again, it is our hope that this limit will give those of you submitting items the incentive to carefully review your submission before we see it. Likewise, it motivates us to give you as accurate feedback as possible the first time should your submission be denied.

Q: What happens if I have an item pending approval now that is a recolor/edit of a ten-times denied submission?

This recolor/edit will be grandfathered in and allowed its allotted ten submissions. Regardless of whether it is accepted or denied after those ten tries, no further recolors or edits of the item will be accepted.

Q: Okay, so let's say I submit ten recolors of an item all at once. If they're each denied once, does that count as ten? What if one makes it to ten on its own?

If you want to submit multiple versions of an item at the same time, we will allow this. (We do not recommend it, however, because if one needs a change, then they likely all will for the sake of uniformity; it's a pretty good idea to get one accepted and work on recolors after that.) Each submission has its own allowance of ten denials. So, if all ten are denied, this still counts as one strike against each item instead of ten strikes on the entire series. Should one recolor reach ten denials, that is when it affects the entire series as it and all pending or future variations will be automatically denied and disqualified for re-submission, even if one or more have previously been accepted.

This is a lot to take in, and you probably have more questions and concerns, which we will be more than happy to answer. Before you panic, please remember that with as few submissions as we have had reach the final limit, this is likely not going to come into effect much at all.
