To All Staffies

I know there has been some concern over spell checking. I will be taking on this responsibility for now and this is how it will be handled.

If you find an item that needs its description changed for spell checking reasons please send me an Smail with the following

1. Item Name

2. Old Description

3. Your Spell checked description
4.A space inbetween each new item

Please limit yourself to 2 mails a day to me and no more then 10 items a mail.

As far as other grammatical mistakes such as actual things you click on or page errors. Im still working on a way we can handle this more effectively. As far as news posts It will happen and it adds charm to the site that the staff are not perfect. So Im thinking we should leave it that way

I would, Mogel, but it seems so overwhelming for you. I would feel bad if I knew I'd be shoving this stuff on you and making you do something. >=

Oh and Fyi spice. I havent received a mail yet to fix typo's so obviously its not that important to you guys.

Ill debate that one with you squeaks, as you the artists are the ones who mainly come up with the descriptions on items. But anywho. Right now we have the staff positions settling with all of our mods becoming ua's, And the onslaught of the User Support position. I dont see an editor position happening Yet. Maybe in the future though.

Yeah, but Mogel you can't do it all yourself and do the item uploading and stuff too.
Let another staff help you, or a couple. You can't take on so much and still do your 101%.

Hammie's right. Charm and individuality you get from idiosyncracies of language and interesting word use, not randomly placed full stops.

I don't know, I'm with Squeaky on this one. Errors do not add charm, they add... errors.

exactly cyde. Not only that but we also have emergency posts as well. This will not change squeaky. This is how we do things.

But 9/10 times news has to be posted at the time of writing, so spell checking it isnt a possibility.
We arent like Neo where we can release the news in one big chunk, we dont make enough news to do that ;P

MAYBE WE NEED TO HIRE US AN EDITOR?
Like... actually make it a full-time Staff position? :3

That's good, but I don't agree with the news posts adding 'charm'; the occasional typo or apostrophe mistake is okay, but when the spelling, punctuation and grammar is as appalling as it sometimes is, especially when it's on the front page and will be part of a lot of people's first impressions of the site, it's just going to annoy a lot of people.
