Galactic Serpenth and Clawsion Revamp!
It's digging time again! And two pets have been re-blessed by the Galactic Nomads, the galactic serpenth and clawsion! Visit Iltallo to begin your galactic quest, and collect gems from the Coda Caves to fulfill it!

I think the serpenth looks awesome although I can agree with everyone on the facial expression and the muted colours. Rather than the silver belly, a nicer gold colour could have been used. The wings seem backwards?

At which point it'll be time for the next wave of revamps.
serpenth's art isn't the only art that my comment is aimed towards (hence, 'every piece of art' since you missed that blurb :smiley:). Pay closer attention to comments when new art is released, you'll understand what I mean.

Ouch, ok, i love love the arts so much, buuuut i'm a proud owner of a galactic serpenth and i have a character for him (like, a god from outer space...). I like the seriousness, majesty and the kinda cruel eyes of the old serpenth, and i loved the contrast of the gold belly scales and the beautiful wings. The new serpenth is maybe... A little too happy? It has a lot of hair and the wings are too much bird-like. It's also gloomier and darker in the colors... It just doesn't feel like being the same pet anymore.
Beautiful art, of course, but the soul of the galactic serpenth has changed too much in the new version...

I like the fact that these are getting updated regularly to keep up with the art level of the other stuff but sadly I'm not a big fan of my Serpenth anymore. I loved the contrast between the blue and gold.. now it looks kind of bland. I also miss the fierce look which is now more cutesy.

I preferred the way my clawsion used to look, but I knew it was only a matter of time after what was done with my devonti. At least this one is similar to the old design instead of the drastic shift in the devonti. I'll keep it around for now, but the more cutesy design doesn't really work for the personality i wanted. Its nice in its way, but it looks like a ever so slightly less fluffy version of the chibi clawsion, which I just got a few days ago. :-/

The serpenth has a bit of a strange pose. Like some of the other colors I can't tell exactly what the wings are doing.
The new art is great on both but I think I still like the older versions better. o3o;

Yeah I think the biggest problem I have with the Serpenth is its expression. It doesn't fit my pet at all anymore. His head seems a little small for his hair too. The hair just looks a little to thick and that there's a little too much of it. The wings look a little too small for his body, like they're just there for decoration instead of helping him glide along better through his environment. I just get this visual of a baby bird frantically trying to flap his wings as fast as he can to try and lift off. I've never like wings as just decoration. It just seems too anime cartoony to me. If something has wings it should have a purpose and a function. I do prefer the gray scales over the gold though and his golden tongue. The shading and colors overall are better. It's growing on me but he is far too happy for Dukat now.

I've owned a Galactic Serpenth since the color/species combo was first released. Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of the Serpenth revamp. The art quality is fantastic, but the facial expression--and the pose to a lesser extent--make the new Serpenth look too happy. One of the reasons I loved the old Galactic Serpenth so much was because it looked fierce. Why the sudden shift in emotion, assuming it was intentional? I know that Galactic is one of the more cheerful colors compared to, say, Bloodred or Nightmare... but there are quite a few Galactic pets (Dillema, Darkonite, Magnus, Mortiking, Paralix, Warador) that do not have cheerful facial expressions.
There are a lot of minor things that I also prefer about the old Serpenth (gold stomach, bigger wings, less hair), but I could overlook all of those changes if the expression hadn't changed so much. The new, happier Galactic Serpenth doesn't fit my current pet's personality at all.

I really love the new one, I don't liked the old one at all, the same things that other people say that they miss I hated from the old serpent :P I love the new colors, I love the pose, I love the wings that really works for me and I want one now. That's my opinion, just to balance the scales :P

Ahhh personality change on the Serpenth is just a bit much for me...looks like the overlay on mine will actually be the old art. I adored the old one's expression...why'd you change it so much? Sure the art needed updating but the old one wasn't bad...it just needed a touch up, honestly.

the clawison looks great! but the serpenth seems so... dull. the colors before the revamp were really striking, blue, black, and gold, and now it seems too muted; all grey and muddy and lackluster. :c

Hmm, I can't say I'm big on the Serpenth. The artwork is cleaner, yes, but I miss its grand gold-blue appearance. Now it seems sort of plain. The wings leave a lot to be desired.

Wow. I kind of really love the new Serpenth. The new pose/wing angle really works for me. I liked the old one, but it never quite made it into consideration for me to own with all the other awesome pets on this site.

I want a Galactic Clawison now, it's so cute! My only critique is that the ears are too bright, but it's not a dealbreaker at all. I still want one lol. I also agree that the Serpenth looks a lot better now.

I really love the new colors, shading, and tongue on the serpenth, but I preferred everything else on the old. It's not enough for me to want to change the color or species but I kind of just wish the colors had been updated instead of the entire thing.

the clawison's ears being a different color than its head is really jarring for some reason. I know the old one was like that too, but dang.

Admittedly I did prefer the old Clawsion... the body was leaner and longer, the gold markings thinner, sharper, and more spread out with more stardust sparkles. This Clawsion looks more like a fat teddy bear than a sabre-toothed cat or dog, and the gold markings seem almost gaudy now. The wings are hugely improved, though, and I recognize that it's closer to the current "canon" Clawsion (e.g. the shoulder/haunch diamonds are now properly positioned and colored, removed the Kumos-ish eye marking). It's very cute and well done, just not something I'm sure I personally want to own anymore.

I like the old Clawison better. Just needed revamped eyes. The gold color in the new one doesn't pop as much. I do however like the new Serpenth a lot more!

The serpenth was fine, it just needed a slight revamp. I don't mind the new look, but I'm not sure why the artist changed the colors in the first place. The inside of the mouth is blue not black. The wings' position are kinda off and more gray than black.

Hm, got interrupted. The old one filled the square better. The hair is weird, too - wearing a wig? The eye was more prominent, definitely better drawn with more reptile resemblance (slit pupil) and dangerous. The old one looks a lot more "modern", whereas the new one resembles the old drawings, that get cleaned out now.

I honestly love the new art. My only complaint is how blue the Clawison's ears/paws/tail are now, compared to the old verison. Too blue, imo.

I am so glad that I was able to get an overlay using the old pose base for Kuvira before the switch. While the new Serpenth is certainly Subeta-quality in terms of artwork, the tone/attitude of the pet and the positioning of the wings I feel are too much of a change from the old one. The tongue on the new one has also been changed to gold [from the original black] for some inexplicable reason, and the blacks on the new Serpenth are also more gray and washed out. I prefer the darker black and more composed attitude of the old Serpenth; the new one looks like it could be Spectrum with its attitude/look instead of Galactic. I also agree with some of the others who posted: the wings are my main complaint with the new Serpenth. One of the wings you can't even see, and while they look more realistic, it makes for more awkward posing with their positioning. I would greatly prefer to see both wings visible, not just one of them.

Oh my God! What did you do to the Serpenth's nose?! Looks like a pig snout or at least upward bent. Why did you have to ridicule the poor being like this? And she's my active pet now, meaning I have to look at this all the time! The beautiful fierce look is gone, the right wing and the aggressive posture was a ton better. Looks as if it got beaten up and landed on its back, since the top of the wings look down. I don't mind the silver bottom instead of the gold, but what are those silvery blotches in the middle of the curl and underneath the head? The colours are dull now as opposed to the saturated shiny black and blue. Where are the teeth? This is a huge step back and simply horrible! I hope we get to vote on the Galactic Serpenth!

Aw, I wish the belly on the serpenth hadn't changed colour. I liked the gold more. The new one also looks a lot happier than the old one.
