Recycle Beast Smelting
The Recycle Beast has been feeling pretty generous lately. You can tell because he’s changed his current rate for smelting sP to recycle points a bit! Now each day you can smelt 500,000sP for 50 recycle points or you can continue to spend 100,000sP on 10 recycle points.

Do that many people use the Smelter (apart from for the achi)? Recycling items is waaaay cheaper.

Kind of a waste of sP imo. I only smelt for the achievements. But glad to see it's useful for others :)

I've honestly never smelted for recycle points I didn't realize that was an option, so I'm really excited now because there are a lot of items in the recycle shop that I would love to get.
I agree with @Amber on trying to get rid of more times in circulation by turning them in to the recycle beast, is there a way that the recycle beast can up the amount of items he's asking for on the weekends?

@Amber thank you so much for keeping the 100k option. I'm sad I went ahead and took the 500k option since I didn't think the lower value was going to come back, but it's a small price to pay and I really don't mind at all. I really appreciate you listening to everyone and taking their thoughts into account.
@Cerredwyn a lot of people though, like me, smelt just for the achievement, which is why 500k a pop (when I think you have to smelt 50 times?) was a really heartbreaking thing to see, lol.

That's really great that both options are available now! Another great way to make recycle points (for half the price, or even less) is to buy items and give them to the beast. I don't know if anyone else has pointed this out yet, but people sell all kinds of items for under 5000. The smelter rate has always been a bit steep since it gives one point for every 10K spent (and it's a GREAT convenience for those who don't want to take the time to buy items, so I'm not knocking it)
It's just that I spent less than an hour just now, and I bought enough items to get me about 800 points, and I didn't spend more than 5000 per item. So I got twice as many recycle points for my sP. That makes sense if you do the math. I'm not sure if others are not aware of it, or if they simply don't want to spend the time. I shopped for those items SO fast that it was worth it. I spent less than half what it costs at the smelter and I wasn't limited to only gaining 50 rc points. I wanted that new book and I wanted extra pts (I don't recycle often--I wouldn't do this everyday) Anyway, I just thought I'd point that out for those with limited funds. If you have a little time you can always find items under 5000 because some people make it a hobby to fill their shops with those things. Most of the items I bought were only 4000 ea and some were even cheaper.

So I'm getting close to 35k in points, I just want to know if you guys are planning to raise it again anytime soon? LOL I'm really just doing it for the beast title but I do love the recycle beast achievements in general.

On one hand I'm like yes! Because it doesn't change the rate and it's just a bulk amount and it'll make it easier to rack up a few more points per day. I truly do appreciate the staff trying this out.
But on the other I'm realizing that instead of spending 700k a week if you use it every day you'd spend 3.5 mill now and if you just started or are still currently working on the achievement you'll technically be spending 5x the amount to get the achievement because you still have to use the smelter 50 times. Maybe you could make it with two options? One with the 10 for 100k and one for the 50 for 500k? That way the people still working on the achievement wont have to shell out much more then they would have previously. Though if you don't want to do that, I completely understand.

This is a great idea! It's annoying to smelt such a paltry amount for recycle points. Now I get to recycle a paltry amount for a much better pay off. Yay! *waves pom poms* *Does a little dance* Ect.

@Wolf_Spirit The ratio is the same! You are just getting points quicker now. Instead of having to go five days in a row, you can just go get once to get 50 points. This will be a bit quicker for people to smelt sP if they choose to do that instead of turn in a bunch of items (because honestly that can be daunting sometimes).

I always cringe when I opt to use the smelter as is so this will probably be a once a week sort of deal for me anyway. :joy:

I'm confused, wasn't it 100k before that got you the same amount of points roughly or am I way off? I've never really used the smelting option before so I'm not 100% sure

OH YEAH you should probably have both options because of the achievement to use it 50 times? Otherwise that shit just got WAAAY more expensive lol ppl going to be mad.

OMG, this will be such a big help for everyone. Bobbleheads need to be put into rotation, I have a gazillion of them. LOL.

But... wasn't it 100k for 10 points? So technically he's not changing the rate, he's just letting you smelt more :P

Good change :D Maybe soon we'll have a 100 point option, if staff sees a lot of people will use Smelter to get more points
