Learn to Bake
Are you prepared to become a baking champion? Or perhaps just learn enough to not burn everything you touch? Come visit me at my new bakery in Veta Lake, which will be open year-round, to learn how different cookies, pies, loaves of bread, and cakes!
As you cook more things and earn more experience, your level in baking will go up. As you level up, more recipes will be unlocked for you, meaning they will no longer show up greyed out on the front page! Once you get more experienced, when you go back to cook easier recipes, you’ll have a much higher success rate. After all, we know how hard baking a new thing can be, so don’t be surprised if you end up burning a thing or two!
I’ve prepared a lovely baking starter kit for everyone. I’ll make sure to give you one when you visit me for the first time!

Just so you know, burning has nothing to do with the timing of each baked good! Burning is tied to your skill level, not how long it takes you to grab a baked good from the oven. ;)

yea no thanks.. legit tried twice.... and the second time clicked done the second it finished and told me too and STILL burned the cookies. I don't think so sub. Good try tho.

@Quo You can make those in the future, just keep those items. :) The news post specifically says though that grey out items are things you can’t bake yet.

No...so I just wasted millions of sp because it let me click and complete the items for a level I couldn't even

@Quo Are you on the Maple Cookies item? That's the only level 1 item at the moment, so you need to make a few of those before you can get to level 2 and unlock other things!

Well achievements will be addd, for now it is to create new food items. My use will be for tcs, but others towards the gourmand. Its a brand new feature so it will take a while for it to be a big important thing. This is more or less our chance to learn it before amber puts more features in it :)

@Tigress Right now, you can make delicious baked goods (which are great for those trying to feed lots of foods to their pets or have bakery-themed pets, which then they can add these to their treasure chests). We’ll be adding achievements in the future to this plus other foods (that could also be wearables, etc). :) We didn’t want to overwhelm everyone right at the start!
It's messed up how some people always jack up the prices of items to ridiculous amounts. I understand wanting to make lots of money, but people go too far sometimes =/ I started pricing some of the items I need for a recipe, and even though this just started, some of the items are way to high to bother with right now!

@StarShadow @Me-Guru You can only make one thing at a time! Any item greyed out means they are recipes you'll "unlock" on future levels, you just have to make a few cookies (successfully) before you can move on to the next level!

This is getting tiring. I have baked the maple cookies several times now. I have 6 burnt cookies in my inventory. What am I doing wrong to keep getting burned cookies? :(
are there ever any achievements for these kinds of things? (i'm an achievement addict..)

OK so obviously you can't make the 2nd item without passing the 1st, as I have all the ingredients for the 2nd but the only option is to "Go Back". Keep burning the stupid cookies. :( Just wish she gave an alert when the baking is done.

Yes. So the left side you can pick from many types of things (aka there are more than one type of milk) but the right side it HAS to be those items. You need both sides to make the recipe ;D

@Asunay If you check out the need help? page, it’ll talk about the ingredient list! The things on the right side are the specific items you need, the left side is for the general group of items (eggs, milk, etc). :)
ive actually never burned anything or messed up a recipe. let's go, fantine, i'll fight you.
