The thing about a prison that it is only as strong as them bars that make it. Or them guards that guard it. Say someone come to that prison and kill them guards, break them bars… what is left? I says that prison cell become a room, with a door that open as easy as any common door.
So many years I longed to see the sky, to stretch my legs - well, me fins for now - so forgive I and I if I don’t stick around and greet you proper. I’ll be leaving a welcoming committee on my behalf.

Merana is by far my favorite villain, she is just so evil and gorgeous! But, that being said... I show zero support to someone evil enough to revel in human sacrifice, especially that of a child. Sure, Shinwa isn't perfect, but you can't compare her to the likes of Merana.
Just wanted to say, pretty please with a cherry on top, leave these challengers up through the weekend.
Even if you have to advance the plot you could do some hand waving. Something like, even though Merana is yadda yadda yadda some of her magic is lingering in her beasts and we need to clean them up.

@AnabellasSong The subetapedia is severly lacking with regards to old plots. There's nothing in there about Blake's last expedition, or the whole Amy thing, or all of these other old events that all of the NPCs keep referencing. It's just kind of exclusive to newer players.

What I will say about this whole plot, not that it's not been fun, is that it's really been the Throwback Plot™. For those of us who weren't here during all of these old events, it really makes the plot uninteresting/confusing because I don't get all of these old things all the characters are referencing.
I know Merana is bad news, but I would love it if she got some kind of redemption type of thing. I don't know how you come back from killing hundreds of people and stealing their souls, but, gosh. I'll defend Shinwa where she deserves it, but was it really necessary to lock Merana up on an island and turn her into a sea witch because she was vain? Then again, it said Merana punished those who didn't acknowledge her beauty, so I guess it would depend on what kind of "punishments" she was dealing out...

I love that Merana is suppose to sound like Tia Dahlma, I always liked the way she spoke. Love the artwork for Cozcoatl too, can't defeat it though -_-

Merana may not have been the nicest person when she was human, but the crimes she was guilty of certainly did not merit the intervention of a Goddess or banishment. Because of Shinwa's actions things got worse; Merana sought revenge, started demanding blood and honing her skills. It was only a matter of time before she got her chance and now she is free. All of this is Shinwa's fault so where is she now? Why does she not speak out? We've heard from the Oracle so where is Subeta's all mighty Goddess now? If you ask me she only punished Merana the way she did because of her own jealousy, she is no better. Shinwa is a child, ALL HAIL MERANA!
Oh Merana, you will regret! At least you will regret this day! Your vanity draw you deep in an ocean of darkness, it made you believe you where to punish people and it got you caught in this form and in a prison by a goddess whose vanity was once just as big as yours, but you didn't recognize the message, you didn't redeem yourself, you didn't regret. Instead you grew even worse, demanding innocent blood year after year, draining hope and love from the islanders till they where forced to back up to desperate measures to satisfy your blood-thirst. You killed Amy! Now you managed to crawl out of your prison, a prison that protected you as much as it hold you captive and we will let you pay! We will end your cruel reign and make the islands peaceful again! No more sacrifices! No more victims! We will bring this to and end once and for all! Beware Merana! Beware and seek redemption as long as you can! Or we will do what Shinwa should have done all those time before! It's judgement day!

I was reading about Shinwa in the Quest Giver NPC section of the Subetapedia, and this kind of broke my heart: "the fact that she was the reason for Amy’s death has all but destroyed her":( The choice of words there.

My t13 hydrus-cursed pet Magentawhimsy wanted to fight in the boss fights but I was all naaah fuck that 502 504 thing I will not fight Subeta itself. Maybe all those errors were Shinwa's contribution to keeping Merana imprisoned? Anyways, it didn't work, nyah nyah nyah.

This is a wonderful surprise! I'm loving the plot twist of bringing back the old opponents from the cruise plot! Hopefully, we'll have at least a day or two to battle all these beasties! New battle opponents would've been more exciting, but hey I'll take what I can get. Although it does seem kinda odd to have the weaker opponents after the boss battles. Just saying.
Aaaaand more stuff I can't fight! Well except JellyFash but I don't think that really counts for much. Guess I'll be waiting till more plot comes up to read.><

@shadowstalker 2013: In a way, yes. But it's more like an optional thing, they first appeared at the dicovery of the Omen Isles. Whenever something like the water festival or an important plotline involing the islands take place, I have noticed she sometimes sends them out. It's not very common, and it's probably just to keep us busy until tommorrow! Anyway, you should reall take the time to battle them and collect as much booty before the next plot point comes up, in case they dissappear!
I'm just gonna have to sit here and hope that 5th win drops beyond Jally Fash make it into the reasonably priced section of the user shops one day. T^T

Yes, event-backed throwback challengers! Unfortunately I still have wimpy pets... But the crab has given me some WONDERFULL items! I got two water defense gems, a crabwitch, and a ghost crab! I REALLY want to battle the Cozqoatl, but again, super whimp. If anyone gets awesome spares on the items, contact me! I will especially accept the head dress.
I feel bad for fighting her minions, but sea creature loots are the best loots. Anyway, yay for Merana being free. She is BAE :heart_eyes:
