Artists will find a nice surprise next time they look at art gallery submissions.

Have fun.

Which is why I said you should mail/IM a UA/AA.

The problems you mention with them not checking the art theft board, will be inherent problems with a list aswell. Yes there are ways around it, but none are as efficient as actually mailing someone.

Well. Instead of locking, when you click Stolen, maybe a little message comes up by the picture "This has been reported as stolen". Then the artist would know not to mess with it?

Oh. I wasnt suggesting an automatic warn for them. I wouldnt want to accidently send a warning to someone xDD

But if your thinking the only problem would be UA/AA's forgetting to check the list, isnt there ways around that? I'm sure they check the Admin panel everyday. Maybe the link to that section could change red when a new report is added to it, that would catch their attention. Or even, instead of that, an event could be sent out to one UA/AA that is online at the time that you press the stolen button. It would pick one that is online to send it to (just one, so it doesnt get confusing) and if no one is online it will send to whoever.

Hmm.. I dont know. Just throwing out ideas here. Because I do see your point, but I still really think it would be more efficient. The person that stole the neo background sketch and submitted it as a malticorn still isn't frozen, and I reported her sometime yesterday, and there have been plently of UA/AA's on to check the art theift board sense then.

The thing is though, that clicking the report stolen button couldnt lock it without me adding stuff to the DB, which I'm not keen on doing.

Also, it would just be added to a list that would rely on an AA checking the list and then taking action on the offenders. This would happen consistently for a while, then the AAs will start to forget, thats human nature, so we'll be back to square one.

I wont even consider making it automatically warn offenders because as I've said before artists dont go through as strong of a vetting process as AA's and UA's do. You're hired on your artistic ability, not your character (although we do try to get both ), and hence your powers have to be restricted.

I just really dont see a report stolen button being any more efficient than mailing a UA/AA about it. Or even contacting them on AIM/in the IRC. Its very rare that *someone* with warning power isnt on to take action. I just see this list as counter productive, since artists will have to remind AAs to check it anyway.

Not really, Cyde.. not having to make a post or mail someone would be a lot more efficent and faster ua's want the picture, proof if you can get it, ect, and when you post it on the forums sometimes it takes a while for the user to get taken care of if no ones on and a few times other artist have accepted a stolen picture (it doesnt happen a lot but it has). I was thinking if there was a report theift button it would lock the submission (no one could accept/deny/report stole again untill it was taken care of, and once it was reviewed by a UA if the user is frozen it automatically deletes the pictures?) and all we'd had to do it type in where it was stolen from (suta-ratio is a good example..countless stuff stolen from there xD)

Its not a huge deal, I know. I just really, really think it would be helpful. The site is getting slow for me again and with my computer running out of space its getting slow which just adds to the problem and it can take 5-7+ minutes to save the stolen picture, upload it to imageshack, get back to the staff/art theift board, and make a post, and wait to make sure it goes through . And with more users joining, there is a lot more stolen art getting submitted to the AG than when we started the theift board. It was great at first because you really didnt have problems with the users being idiots before, but now, theres usally multiple post in less than a week about theift, sometimes 2-3 a day, I just think maybe we should have a more convenient/effiecnt way of dealing with them.

But anyway. Its not a big deal yet. If you really dont want to do it, maybe its something you can look into when we get even more users and its really a hassle to go through all that more than once a day. I do love the new deny feature, I'm happy with that

Reporting Theft would do the same thing as mailing an AA does. Just mail AAs with warnings that need dishing out for theft.

Thats all it'd be, a list that AAs would have to check and warn from.
