Yes, it is quite difficult. :/

OK I think I have this one (at least i hope).
0

User not found:

gah this ones hard for me...ii dont get it. i dont know any codes whatsoever. geez i dont even know what to google for cuz weird stuff come up when i put number codes(e.g area code pin code phone numbers :S)

i agree

User not found:

this trivia makes me mad.
0

User not found:

wow...this current trivia is a lot harder than i thought....cant seem to find the item........maybe im using the wrong code...
0

User not found:

These codes make Trivia the opposite of fun for me.
<br>I honestly can't figure out how to decipher them.

That's fine DebiLee. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0> If I don't do trivias that I think will take more than day to solve, that's ok. The added bonus is that I already have 10 - phew! It's nice to know that the staff make mistakes too! <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif border=0>

Whether or not to do the Trivias is an individual decision. There has never been a set time for the end; I myself have gotten two incorrect because, after researching, I knew the answer for the one that was up, but I didn't think to refresh the page when I came back to it, and the Trivia had changed, so I put the old answer for the new Trivia... which I also knew the answer to. The current Trivia does have an advantage to solving it in that it obviously has to be an item with exactly that number of letters, plus it is a fairly standard universally used code. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>

Sorry, but - with absolutely no offence to the staff, whom I still love - I'm going to have to join the group of people who have given up even attempting new trivias. I just can't spend over five hours working on cracking something, if there's no guarantee that it will still be there when I have. I simply can't afford to waste what time I have like that, to be disappointed, and see the subsequent prize selling for over 3 mil. And I don't want to log-in to Subeta and be angry/disappointed, as I really like the site. I'll miss the trivias. I used to enjoy them. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif border=0>

It COULD be a 24 year age gap, if one assumed Miriam was 72 or Debilee was 36.
0

User not found:

actually they do. They cant have the same age unless theyre both born on the same year which i dont take the hint would have been necessary. Theres 12 different chinese years and therefore IS a 12 year gap. i should know.
0

Nouveau

Leftovername, you are wrong about the they MUST have an age gap of 12. They do, but it isn't a must.

DebiLee

The Trivia had to be changed early because people were mailing every single Staff member and jamming their inboxes rather than just only mailing me (it's permissible to mail the person who puts up the Trivia), or looking at the look ups and journals of the Staff members; that's what I meant by complaints, not user cimplaints, we always have those. XD There was an announcement at the top of the page on Moon's and my shared birthday, plus we've both said it many times, plus Forums posts around the time, etc. Keith, excalibur, etc. have all posted numerical codes Trivias in the past; this is just another. No, Lapillons will not stock or be used as a Trivia prize again; there were actually WAY more won than people seem to think there were. A Trivia prize is only re-used if fewer than ten total are won; there were many, many more than that won. The Trivias do not, and will not, end at set times due to the possibility of a Staff member not being available at that precise time to change them, nor will a specific ending time be announced. The only requirement for them is that they stay up for a minimum of twenty-four hours (barring those taken down for mistakes), so that everyone in all time zones has a chance to answer them. This one was up for well longer than that and was taken down for a specific reason, not "arbitrarily". A small percentage of users might tell someone else the answers; when found/reported we freeze everyone involved. And, as I previously explained to Noir, I believe it was, this type of Trivia is now being done because the value of the Trivia prizes had become severely compromised due to the posts in Yahoo answers; I purchased 4th of July squirt guns for as low as 25sP each! That was just NOT right. And it IS working as intended; before there were 75%-85% correct, now that has been successfully reversed to 15%-25% correct, re-establishing and maintaining the value of the prizes. Also, Trivias on other assorted sites aren't Googleable; you actually have to work and figure them out, which is exactly the same as ours is now. There will not be a return to Googleable Trivias; both Moon and I spent hours researching fun, interesting, quasi educational Trivias only to find them plastered all over Yahoo Answers. So it was either switch to this new type of questions or do away with the trivia completely. Some will be more challenging than others but we won't be returning to searchable Trivias.

LOL No offense taken, at all, which is why I wrote "Last one was darned near impossible" instead of it was straight up impossible because I know people did get the right answer <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>
<br>
<br>My main point was the fact that as soon as it came out, the info was in fact NOT on moonfighters page nor was any info on Debi's page. At the time, it was fixed, but at the time I tried to solve it, the information was not there...Therefore I didn't think it was necessary to check back on that page, which was my mistake I guess <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif border=0>
0

User not found:

you DIDNT have to guess debilees age. both the oldest and second oldest were year of the dog. so they have an age gap of 12. and then in moonfighters page some asked if they in fact have the same birthday. and you get moonfighters age. you guys needed to use the hint they gave you. it was there for a reason.
0

User not found:

No offense Kricket, but of people got the answer right, then it WAS possible...=/. I know for a fact that the staff (more or less debilee since she added it) would not add a trivia if it was "impossible" to find....=/
0

User not found:

I really hate trivia questions.
0

Kricket

Please ignore the rant about the user lists, as my brilliance just clicked on the Staff button on the bottom of the darned pages LMAO.
<br>
<br>Buut point still stands that their ages were NOT all up as I was looking for them, once I spent an hour and a half searching the users profiles, to occasionally hit upon a staff member <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>
0

Kricket

Well ok this is bad. How in the world are we supposed to establish what someone is thinking about by throwing random numbers at us with no cypher to CRACK THE CODE. Don't tell me it's a "simple crack the code trivia" and not give us the ability to crack the code. This is ridiculous. No, I don't want the google trivias back, but COME ON. Last one was darned near impossible if you didn't know who was staff, which by the way most newbies won't and since you dont' have a user list you can't find out....And now this one is "here are some random numbers, that aren't binary, aren't hex code, aren't decipherable into hex code, and also aren't leet speak. So what is it, because I won't give you the deciphering factor."
<br>Well, that's all fair and wonderful. Pffft
0

Aleks

Yeah, that last trivia was more guesswork and tiring research than actual math skills.
<br>
<br>Lemme try this one now. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif border=0>

My problem on the last trivia was the fact that NO WHERE on Subeta does it tell DebiLee's age or birth year. I had no clue how old she is. I followed the logic and got all the other parts of the trivia correct but I had to guess at DebiLee's age. I also came up with the answer of 1. (Personally since that part of the equation was missing at Subeta, I believe all folks who answered 1 should get the prize too. Because we had to guess between the ages of 36 or 48 for Deb)
0

NekoDramon

I'll keep trying, but honestly my eyes are bleeding from ciphering. Meh. I should've stayed in school. >.<
<br>Tell you what, can we please put these bunny items up as Donation gifts or something? I can figure out how to push the "Pay" button at Paypal....lolz. ^^

Whats up with everyone complaining. Its called a trivia for a reason. Just because you dont KNOW it doesnt mean you cant LEARN it. If it wasnt hard, it wouldnt be trivial, no? Also, people who are complaining about the last trivia being taken down early...Well, guess what. There isnt a set time they HAVE to change it. Thats the most fun part of the trivia. You never know when its going to change. Nor does everyone else. If a lot of people won, which I can see there was a fair ammount, Then there WAS enough time on the trivia. There was more than enough time and a fair chance for everyone to get it right. And no, incase you're wondering, I did NOT get the past trivia right..<img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>

Is this trivia an item number or do we have to figure out what each letter stands for because there are a lot of 7's in there.

<br>*my brain is dripping out of my ear*

1. I agree with the others that there should be a set start and end day.
<br>
<br>2. I love how the new trivia says "This is a simple Crack the Code trivia". Simple??? If it was simple, I don't think it would've been put up as a trivia.
0

User not found:

and then the two people who had the same birthday was moonfighter and debilee. It was asked in the Q&A in moonfighters page.
0

User not found:

the whole trick last trivia was that both the oldest and second oldest were year of the dog. which meant they have a gap of 12 years apart since there is 12 animals...<img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>

I agree with some people here - I think the trivia need to start and end on a set day. :/
<br>
<br>It's really no fun when you waste hours trying to figure out stuff, and then -bam-, the trivia is over. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif border=0>

wow....the last trivia almost made me commit suicide.....*whew* luckily i didn...
0

Ahh man, I almost had it! Figured out the ages and everything, but was so tired I wasn't going to do the math until this afternoon, since I thought it'd still be up... >_<
<br>
<br>Ahh well. I'll just try this one I suppose...
0

ichigo_byakuya

Yeah I also like the idea of the trivia having a start and end set day.
0

User not found:

I agree - Trivias need to start and end on a set day. I'm sure I'm not the only person who's really cross about it ending so quickly - One more day and I'd have had the answer! I'm not looking for a repeat of the googleable trivias, but I think some people are forgetting that there are quite a few kid players on here who just aren't up to mind-melting trivias all the time. Couldn't we see a happy medium of the brain-bending and the googleable? Maybe alternate between hard and medium? And please please consider putting up a "this trivia ends on..." sp we don't waste 5+ hours for nothing, or people just aren't going to bother with them.
0

Aimee

*Holds tightly to Lapi* I hope it doesn't get given out again<img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0> It would take away from it's rarity.
<br>
<br>Nah really it wouldn't matter to me much, i thought trivias lasted a week... but yeah it wasn't right to end it early cause of people complaining.
0

Rajani

I hope that Lapillon will become a trivia prize again in the future. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_happy_sweatdrop.gif border=0> I wasn't expecting the trivia to be replaced so quickly.
0

User not found:

I thought the trivia was changed so that it wouldn't be so easy to get, but some of the people who have been getting the trivia right have been telling friends anyway to get doubles and sell?
<br>
<br>Nothing like encouraging the cheaters. :/
0

JESSYTA

You know what would be really rad? If the trivias started and ended at set times. Like, once per week, or ocne every 3 days. hat way there aren't angry players who didn't get to finish one trivia because staff arbitrarly decided to change it.
0

<br>
<br>Typo. Dx
0

I've given up on the trivia too. ;~;
<br>I'd rather just use sP to buy from other users then crack my head on this trivia. It's just not my thing. Dx
0

User not found:

UndeadCat *ROTF!* I hear ya darlin'. I've given up on the trivia.
<br>
<br>Avbljf, I agree. When I looked and looked, there were no ages. The only one I knew was Keith because when he turned 17 we had an abundance of cake and balloons for a week. lol
<br>
<br>I think the intentions were good but only those with gifted minds or great guessing could get any of these dang number things. Grrrrrr.
0

Aimee

And Moon later changed her profile and put her age there. xD
<br>In my opinion if you're gonna have a trivia like that the staff shouldn't be editing their profiles while the trivia was up, it all should have been done before the trivia started. I noticed a couple other profiles change while I was in the middle of searching.
0

Aimee

<img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0> if you guessed one as your answer it was because you probly put debilee as being 36 and not 48<img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>
<br>
<br>This trivia may be half as long but it's just as hard if not harder XD
0

User not found:

My head hurts
0

User not found:

Too many complainers. PLEASE don't go back to Google-able trivias. That just encourages laziness. :|
0

Dangit! I was going to do that one, too.... XD Ah well. I oughta be faster next time.
0

User not found:

Lapillons should restock <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif border=0>

Yess! I so got this one right! And I acutally did mine the same way Quagthistle did, except I knew Keith was 17 cause of the SB.. before it died.
0

loopa

i did'nt get these numbers, the ages, the administrators, who's oldest, nothing! all to find out the answer was zero???? that sucks, I wanted that minion and the last trivia for the blue building!!
0

my gosh so close my awnser was 1!

0

Quagthistle

I never said my way was the easiest. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0> Far be it for the Quag to take the easy way. No, overthinking things is one of my specialties! <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>
<br>
<br>And I loved the trivia, once I had solved it, but while solving it, I might have uttered a grumble that incuded the words "too hard" and "nigh on impossible". <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>
0

Bogart

Well, I think I found easier ways to figure out some stuff. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>
<br>
<br>If you read Miriam's profile, she mentions that she has one daugther who is a member of subeta. If you look her up, she mentions that she is 40. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0> Then, use the clue about the year of the dog. ^^
<br>
<br>And Moon later changed her profile and put her age there. xD
0

Quagthistle

As far as the shared birthday, I knew. My birthday is only 3 days from theirs, and I happened to be in the Shoutbox one day when they were talking about it. The info is currently on Moon's lookup, but either it wasn't there when I worked this out, or I was just having a moment of blindness at the time. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif border=0>
0

User not found:

I'd like to add though, that I really did enjoy the previous trivia, despite the difficulty, because of what I learnt about the admins that I disregarded before. It felt good to be a little more familiarized with you guys. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif border=0>
<br>
<br>And also, I think maybe a little explanation of what you do with these number codes would help, because I haven't got a clue... @-@ Like many others it seems.
0

ANDdebPROCLAIMS

Thank you though for showig us how to solve it <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif border=0>
0

ANDdebPROCLAIMS

But Quag how did you know this:
<br>
<br>The second oldest I figured had to be DebiLee, who shares a birthday with Moonfighter666. (They were the only shared staff birthdays I knew of.)
<br>
<br>Maybe I am an idiot but I didnt know they shared the same birthday did it say it somewhere or did you just know?
<br>
<br>That was the only part I didnt have so I just guessed but if it was something you just had to /know/ then that trivia was really unfair
0

User not found:

There were no exact age to begin with so I don't know how, except by luck, people could've gotten this one.
<br>I'm like most others, I don't get the code cracking things.
0

Quagthistle

Here's how I worked it out (in case anyone is wondering):
<br>
<br>Miriam2204 is the oldest, and she is of a grandmothery level of age. On her look-up, she mentions having a 15 year old grandson. Now, from the year of the dog clue, we know her age has to be a multiple of 12 (12, 24, 36, 48, 60, etc.). She can't possibly be 48 or under because having a 15 year old grandson would mean that both her and her daughter had to have children at 13. That's highly unlikely. (You get this by subtracting 15 from 48 and dividing by 2 for an average first-childbearing age for mother and daughter.) Age 60 would put childbearing at 22.5 years, and 72 puts childbearing at 28.5 years. Well, being nearly 30 at the birth of their first child for both is possible, but not as likely, in my opinion, as 23. So I gave Miriam an age of 60.
<br>
<br>The second oldest I figured had to be DebiLee, who shares a birthday with Moonfighter666. (They were the only shared staff birthdays I knew of.) I knew Debilee was in her 40s. I wasn't sure about Moon's age, but I thought she was around the age of 20. (Actually, I thought she was 24, but I found that couldn't be true if the answer was an integer, ie a whole number.) So Debilee was assigned an age of 48. Moonfighter666 was given a variable m because I really didn't know how old she was.
<br>
<br>This makes our equation 60-48+m = 12+m
<br>
<br>Reading Debilee's lookup yeilded her dog count, which is 3. Putting this in the equation gives us: (12+m)/3 = 4+(m/3)
<br>
<br>Keith is 16 or 17, I knew, but I wasn't entirely sure which one. So I added this in: 4+(m/3)+16 = 20+(m/3) (+1?)
<br>
<br>Debilee's usernumber is 13. Adding this in gives us: 13+20+(m/3) (+1?) = 33+(m/3) (+1?)
<br>
<br>For the nextstep, there are 4 admins. So we need a number divisible by 4 that seems reasonable. Possible results that would come out evenly are 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, etc. That would put possible results for (m/3) at 2-3, 6-7, 10-11, 14-15, & 18-19. Now we stick these in our equation ad see what we see. (m/3)=2or3 | 3*(m/3)=2or3*3 | m=6or9. Not a very good chance that Moon is 6 or 9. The pictures in her and her good friend's album make it certain this is not the answer. So doing the same thing with 6-7 yeilds an age of 18-21, and this is a good possibility. Let's log that away, and look at the next possibility. The possible 10-11 puts Moon's age at 30-33. That's not very likely. In her picture, she does *not* look 30. Further answers will yeild ages even more preposterous (42-45 and 54-57). It's obvious that our answer here is 18-20.
<br>
<br>So, plugging that in, we get 33+(18or21/3) (+1?) = 33+(6or7) (+1?) = 39or40 (+1?) We need a number divisible by 4, so obviously, our answer this stage should be 40. Now divide by 4 to get 10.
<br>
<br>The cost to heal a pet 1 HP is 10 sP, so subtract that out to get: 10-10 = 0. This is our answer.
<br>
<br>*whew* That's how I got my answer *huff puff* <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>
0

misskass

Nnnnnngh. I can't find any items in which the last three letters are the same. And since it says nothing about decoding the numbers after working our what letters they are (and since I'm assuming that all '7's can only be replaced by one letter), I can only assume that SubetaDB is wrong.
<br>
<br>I much preferred the Google ones, because even though people cheated through the forums etc., there are very few people who try trivia anymore because of the difficulty.

OK: Now I'm really angry - I was 1 piece of information away from cracking the last one, I wasn't in yesterday to work on it, and now you've changed it!? I'm afraid I agree with what Del said on the last one: That's it for me. I'm tired of working on mind-bending trivias, just to have them changed when I've nearly got there. Finito.
0

Rah

You're just taunting my bunny gallery now :p Darn my stupidity! I hope somone wants to sell me these items after the trivias are over!

What? I so dont get these ones! DX

sometimes i wonder how we are supposed to understand what the trivia setters are thinking about, just by looking at a string of numbers.
<br>
<br>they are so many ways to decipher something. i still very much prefer the previous versions of trivias, when it seems much more trivia-like.
<br>
<br>but then again, i shall try my best for this one. <img src=/images/smilies/smiley_xface.gif border=0>

OOOO NOOOOO ;o;

Mistygou - same here, I read somewhere that debilee was 48, BUT I wrote down my calculations for both, and when i typed in the answer.. I typed in '1' from my other sheet (where i was saying 36) <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif border=0>!

Ew i'm so.... pee'd off (sorry about language). I hoep my friend got it right, if she did i'm so gonna make send it to me <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_happy.gif border=0> <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>

In this one, is it supposed to be in order, or do we also have to descramble the letters once we figure out what they are?
<br>
0

AniVasion

I never managed to find a decisive answer to the second oldest admin, so I worked out both possibilities and came up with a "1" or "0". I didn't get the Lapillion....so obviously.....blah
0

ME TOO SPARTS OMG. ._.
0

Todd

I worked out the answer to the last, and typed it in wrong by mistake.. i put the answer 1 instead of 0 ;_;
