Books have been recently been causing pets' intelligence to drop to 0 when read. This problem has been corrected, and anyone who has been affected by this should visit this page and click the link to have their pets' intelligence reset to the proper level.

The Oracle assures us that all books are now safe for pets to read once again.

Mainly it would be the Tomes, which aren't really technically books per se, as they give several assorted stats points at once, including various amounts of intelligence points. Those would be the majorly significant intelligence points lost.

Thank you for the heads up Debi. If you hadn't said anything, I'd still have been wondering why some people were saying they lost a lot more than a handful of points. The books that give more than one int are pretty few and pretty rare, so there aren't that many pets who've read them. The way it is now, though, the only ones who should lose points from the page are ones whose pet's int has already been zeroed out, in which case only the int from the books themselves can be restored.

Also, on the subject of Alchemy points: this page does not reset your pets' Alchemy points, however, when you reach your next Alchemy Point, if you happened to miss one because of this, you will get more than one point (though the message will only say that you got 1 point).

Your work is much loved Quagthistle, Bukowski did get his 4 points back. Thank you <3

I was just explaining why they still could be off; Hedwig is way off as he... or she... whichever it is now was my active pet for quite some time and so got all of the stats increases and boosts from the Oracle, etc.

Well, I fixed the page so that it won't lower any pet's int now. I had no idea there were other ways of raising int than books.

I've spent over 3 hours trying to fix the page so that it will account for the few pets who have read books that give out more than 1 int. And for reasons inexplicable, that page refuses to do so.

So, my appologies, but I'm calling this one as done as it's going to get with me coding it. If the missing int points are making you lose sleep at night, smail me and I'll do my best to fix it.

PS: If your missing int points are from any source other than reading books, I'm afraid there is nothing I can do. The database doesn't record other methods of raising int.

x.x Aww man, reading that book to Koda yesterday cost him 71 intelligence points. Ah well, at least he's got some of them back, hey?

ahhhhh yeeeeaaaaaah XD. Like the Oracle and such! Yeah! I did not even think about that, DebiLee... O.o....

Part of the problem is that it only adjusts intelligence to equal the exact number of books read, so I actually lost intelligence on some of mine as well, as they had intelligence points that had been given to them by other stats increasing means.

Thank you Quagthistle. :3

I'll look into it, Drea and Kalon_Akarui. When I wrote the fix page, I didn't know that some books are worth more than 1 int.

XTC, drae and I are having the saaame problems ^^".... Yeeeah... I dunno if I should report this as a bug in the tracker, or go make a forum, or complain or what....

Mine started at 135, but went down to 109. I've read Xanthara loads of books again now, but ... lost some somewhere! Should have left that alone haha

yeah mine has read the package but I think it only counted for 2 XD haha. I don't remember and did not even consider that. Haha/ But I am almost positive he has ready 280-282 books... I am pretty sure it is 281... But yeah...4 books is like 1/2 a mil... Which sucks...

Andrea

I know, 4 books is killer though ! Cause he's read all the cheapy ones, I was acutally more mad cause 250 was a milestone for me; and that made me do it again XD

I can't really count mine though, cause he's read the book package, which counts as 5 (I think..)

Kalon_Akarui

Yeah, I mean that is 4 books! Drae and I are suffering XD haha. Naa, I mean, I will survive... It is just an annoyance becuse it is not correct... I know his intel was 280 last I checked... I read him a book today too. So I believe it is 281 and I counted the 'books read' for him too. But hopefully it will get fixed...

I had the same problem Kalon_Akarui, Bukowski had 253 before this happened, and afterwards he had 248.

Good thing my pets haven't read any books lately. XD

Kalon_Akarui

Well now it says my pet has read 277 books and in reality has read 281... I can redo the math but I think he has an intel of 281... grrr....
