actually to tell the truth it was my my first tied with the Demi... which you also killed for me which is why i had to give mine away.
if you want to make new pets that's fine, but i don't see why old pets that are perfectly fine have to keep changing.

I'm sure this has already been said before, but I'll say it again anyway.
The Dragon revamp might need to be re-revamped.
First of all, we already have two dragon pets, the Dragath and the Magnus. Both of them have horns, wings, and four legs. The old dragon was wingless, and had these whiskers on its nose. It was a more "Western-Asian mixed" dragon, and that made it nice...
Or was it getting too close to the Paralix? Then do we really need four dragons? Maybe two? Or just one?

I think the art for the dragon is very well-done (as always), but...I have to agree it really looks too much like the Magnus now. I liked the wingless, bewhiskered dragon we had prior to the revamp. While I'm generally a revamp apologist (in fact, almost always), this really feels like it's gone well away from the actual design of the pet.

i like how the chai looks. its just the dragon. i dont mean to be...terribly discouraging, but the only reason i liked the dragon was because it had no wings. that way i could make my Sun Demon able to float around without wings. i think the dragon looks too much like the magnus now. the rest of its fine, its just the wings. sorry if im being to prude and rude.

I do not like the dragon for a few reasons, one being the chibi dragon. Something wrong with it's feet, one being slightly over-sized and the other being small. The second being the bloodred dragon, it's bodies big I get that but about the wings that seemed too be chibified. I'm not trying too be rude but since the other dragons are flying with wings that could carry their body what has happen too the bloodred? It looks more like a t-rex with little wings then a dragon. Why do the horns on it bend back and then forward while the red do not?
The chai is cute, it's fluffy and nice. Not much of a change there.
II know you have said there may not be a poll for revamps but when it comes too pets that have more of a following with a big change it probably would be for the best too poll it.

There's something about the Dragon that I don't like.. I think it's the head; it looks a bit too big on the body. Also, the snout looks too round on the top. Other than that, I think it's ok.

The Chai looks very good, because it didn't change very much. In the other hand, the Dragon looks very generic now. It lost all the special things he had before, and now looks only like a big muscular dragon. With wings.

Aww the chibi dragon is adorable..... I know my hubby is going to be so excited when he finally gets back on here and looks at his dragons... He will be so HAPPY with the dragon revamp.. As I said in another News comments section, polls on revamps aren't necessary. We now have two head artists; it's part of their job description to make such decisions (along with Keith). And the entire art department can also critique them as well. Revamp polls became unwieldy with the current size of the site, plus they have almost always degenerated into arguments in the News comments.

Simply I prefer the new Dragon look, a slight more look to a western dragon maybe once on all fours. As for the crea urrrm, i don't really care in all honest ^^; Gold pets look good enough as a yellow one imo, it'd look abit too alike... Unless they made Citrus colored pets, that'd be kinda cool o.o -drinks OJ-

They're both really awesome! Kudos to artists! I LOVE the new Dragon revamp! I knew they had to get a revamp (especially after the Galactic Dragon was released and it looked WAY cooler than normal Dragon colors)! Plus, the older Dragons didn't have wings! Annd I know Dragons don't have to have wings but...in my opinion, wings are better. Now if only they would release a Reborn Dragon (hint, hint)! ^_~

I'm getting a little annoyed that people keep going 'It's based on a dragon! Therefore it MUST have wings.' Have you no imagination? This is a PET SITE. Dogs can go oink and Zebras can be the size of stadiums. The ORIGINAL DRAGON for subeta NEVER had wings and ALWAYS had whiskers. If the dragon had always gone by normal 'dragon' standards, then fine. Give it wings.

Leviathan is a type of dragon, it doesn't need wings. Neither did this dragon.

I think that the point of the Revamped Dragon straying a bit from the path has been a bit beet into the ground so I would like to, not that it'll make overmuch of a difference now that it's been released, make some constructive points:
The wings look as though they attach a little high up, like on the neck, and personally I would have liked to see big full dragon wings that are more membranous and that span the full length of the body (see why: http://www.dreslough.com/main/WINGS/wings8.html) so long as the Dragon is now supposed to be extremely Westernized.
The shading on the dragon I have no issue with, except that on the left (our left) leg, the shading for the knee and upper leg seems to begin awfully high up, creating as many have pointed out, a lumpy look. I don't think he's lumpy elsewhere.
The Chai looks like an updated Chai and makes them a little less unappealing (I think it's the less fluffy eye-rims) and more dynamic. As long as I blasted the Dragon's wings I feel like I should say that the left (again, our left) leg indicates either a very wide rear-end (which could be played with) or something wrong.
That all said, I still think both images are excellent AND although I think previous Dragon-lovers have made themselves clear I like this one better. That old, you can only see the head and a bit of foreshortened body picture made me extremely loathsome of the species.

I thought the staff here were sticklers for protecting the "original concept" of pets? So why the sudden addition of wings? The Dragon NEVER had wings, and there's no rule stating that every dragon should. Are all the reptilian (and gargoyle) species on this site doomed to look alike? The new Dragon marks yet another blow to the uniqueness Subeta once had, and the variations that made each different pet special. It even has the same rounded, blobby, balloon-ish shading that all the other recent art has shown instead of the nice, crisp, simple coloring and the smooth angularity that made the Dragon look so sleek and sophisticated. Even the eyes and muzzle are so vastly different that they completely change its character. This looks more like something I'd expect to see floating down the street at a Macy's parade. But maybe that's what Subeta wants now? Classic marketability?

According to a book called "The Natural history of Dragons and Unicorns" by Paul Johnsgard and Karin Johnsgard (a rather humorous look of "IF Dragons and Unicorns are real, this is how they would have lived"<img src=http://75.126.226.189/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif border=0>, they claim dragons either have 2 limbs or 4 limbs. 2 limbs like a snake with wings, called a wyvern, or 2 wings and 2 limbs like a bird or bat, or all four feet like a lizard or crocodile.
So a 6 limbed dragon (4 walking feet, 2 wings) the book reasons is not possible in the natural world, as only insects have evolved that way, and a dragon's closest relatives, reptiles and birds, have modified forearms or rib extensions. A 4 legged dragon with wings is ONLY possible in fairy tales.
This is an online game, and not a depiction of real life. However, I chose to make a Dragon for Forgotten_mists BECAUSE the Dragon species was eastern in appearance, and the drastic change is not welcomed. If I wanted a western dragon, I would have chose the Dragarith.
There is no reason to have this many western dragons on the site.

Each of the dragon species are very different, but they will always share common traits because they are all dragons. The species the Dragons most resemble in their current form is the Magnus, not Dragrath. Even then it's only passing, because the Magnus has much less pronounced horns and ridges, as well they have ears. My bets are that once the Magnus gets a revamp the similarities won't be as noticeable.

What bothers me is now there are three VERY similar species of pets. Before the dragon didn't have wings, so it stuck out from the others, like the paralix. Now it, the dragarth and the magnus all have similar features. It also lost it's personality, I think. The old pose was wonderful, I don't know why they thought it needed to be changed. I don't have a Dragon, Dragarth or a Magnus, but it disappoints me to see them all with the same features. ._.;

My alternative to "If you want an eastern get a paralix." Well, if you want a western dragon, there's two options available. Now there's three. I hope the paralix doesn't get revamped, it looks great as is and I'd hate to have to change MorbidThoughts.

Not bad, I definitely like these dragons better. Granted they are huge deviation from the original but they look more like (western) Dragons now, as their name implies they are. I for one have always known (eastern) dragons as Lung Dragons or Long Dragons. Lets hope the Paralix gets a revamp and looks as good, same with the Magnus.

*sob* I am sorry, I respect the artist, I do. I think her new dragon IS beautiful, but it should be another species. It is nothing like the old dragon, and looking at the screenie of the old dragon makes me very sad. He has a completely different, look, attitude, personality, everything. The addition of the wings, the whiskers being gone, the head being completely different....well it IS a different species. Why not make the new dragon a different species and keep the old dragon? People seem to have that idea in their heads suddenly. I, personally, don't like it because THAT dragon couldn't win a fight with a telenine. The old one wouldn't even have to fight because he was too wise and too powerful for even a mortiking to pick a fight with. *prods old pic* He was much more muscular and less... rubbery. I'd stretch this new one out and snap it at someone's back like a rubber band. And he had more than three scales. What's a dragon without an armor of scales?

The new dragon is very pretty (and the Galactic is stunning), but I rather preferred the whiskers and the laying down pose. And let it be known that I appreciate the artistic talent of those creating these images and I frown upon those who criticize them without logic. Then again, a tweaked old saying is that "Those who can: do. Those who can't: critique/teach."

Nestly: The Dragon DID originally have wings, silly. XD That's why they brought them back this revamp. (Or so I heard; sorry if I'm mistaken) I think the wings make it look more like a.... Dragon. xD Rather then a giant green lizard with red spikes.

All I have to say about the Dragon revamp is: why does it have wings? I agree with Dragon_Heart. If it was meant to have wings, it would have in the original design. Now what's the point of having the Dragon and the Dragarth? They have similar features now.

The dragon... well, i dont really care either way... I thought the old Dragon was boring looking, though it did remind me of China/eastern cultures immediately... now it just looks like a normal fantasy dragon. Which maybe was what the dragarth should have become and leave the Dragon eastern-influenced....

I like the way you think Zhuria ;D. Unfortunately for me, my pet is Reborn, so an expensive miracle potion is needed ;o;. Though, I don't think the Reborn Dragon is even OUT yet. I can't be sure since subetaDB is still not working for me. Well, I hope it gets blue yes like the RB Magnus does. I love this revamp, and I'm going to change my Magnus to Dragon immediately when the RB Dragon is released (unless of course, it somehow doesn't turn out how I expect it, doubtful as it is)

The paralix is furry and more like Neverending Story or Spirited Away, if you want an eastern that isn't doglike you're kinda out of luck now, aren't you? Some people might actually want an eastern dragon dragon, not an eastern dragon dog. :/ So the Paralix really shouldn't be the big "If you want an eastern..." choice, because it's not the true eastern dragon type. Eastern dragons are meant to look wise. They're respected like that. Paralix is... vicious. Not very wisely at all.

I'd say it goes like this: If you want a dragon that's based on eastern mythology, there's the Paralix. If you want a dragon that's based on western mythology, there's the Dragon. If you want a dragon that's pure fantasy, pick the Dragarth. And if you don't want a "real" "flesh-and-blood" dragon, go with the gargoyle (Magnus, that is)! At least you do get some constructive criticism from most users. If you do happen to go back to the Demi revamp and the Feli revamp polls, a good number of users DID happen to post more than; 'I H8 IT!!11!11oneone'. There where super-long debates between users about the revamps, people posting, people choosing, people giving advice on the pets and letting you and the other staffers know what we disliked and loved about both revamps. The more mature users would have done the same here.

That's why they have a 'comments' section. Usually, when a poll IS posted, many users flock to vote, and many more still post on the comments that are located in the news- as most polls DO so happen to pop up in the 'news' section, THUS allowing those who voted freedom to say why they voted yes or no.

Personally, I think I'm one of the few who actually LIKE the revamp of the dragon. In my opinion, the wings were a NEEDED addition, and are a major plus to the revamp. Back when I was looking to find a decent dragon to make my Draco, NOTHING looked even good enough. The dragon and Paralix were wingless, plus the dragon had those whiskers made the dragon look old and unattractive, and the Dragareth looked way too short for my taste. I had no choice but to turn to the Magnus, which is a gargoyle, not a dragon! I wish I had waited for this revamp to come out, instead of possiblly spending millions to get a miracle potion. <br />

As for the poll, well that's just a touchy subject in general. I know this would have upset me if it was a species I was particularly fond of and was suddenly changes without even a poll or opinion option. But, I'm not staff, and I can't pretend I know the inner workings of their meetings and such. I can only know that there must have been a good reason for it.

Hmmm. What ever happened to poling the users when a pet was going to be overhauled?
I realize that it may have needed a revamp but when it no longer looks like the same pet (in case of a the dragon) I think that the users should at least be asked what they think. It has been done for less important changes, why stop now?

I know staff are very busy now and i know when they do revamps and changes the pets they do it for the best.Some people may like it or others no.That is why there a variety of species.Anyway im pretty sure being a staff isnt easy and is very hard working.I appreciate everything they do for us i really do and i give them 2 thumbs up!I really like the chai revamp as for the dragon i wasnt a fan of it at first but i have to say that it's cute and much better then the old one.Now we are able to see the full body of the dragon.Anyway good job staff!!!

Now I realize what else is wrong; Take a look at the Bloodred Dragon, then take a look at the Bloodred Endeavor. oO; They are FAR too alike. It looks like it's trying to imitate the Endeavor.

And, pardon my French, but what the heck did you do to the bloodred Dragon?! oO'; That looks so... off. Reminds me of Dr. Frankenstein's Igor. And there is so much that needs to be fixed about it before beginning to justify the revamp.

I honestly think you should have polled us as well. That dragon is nothing like the old one. If it was something minor, like shading details, whatever, I can understand, but that was such a big change..... I find it highly unfair that no one was polled about this. I like the old way where there was more than one style of art around here..... now it's all just.. 'meh, don't ask, just do!' I think if you /had/ put a poll for the both, the new Chai would have one and the old Dragon would have stayed. That just isn't the dragon all of us know and grew to like, to aprreciate. It doesn't have the same feel, the same look..... The same facial hair. -0 (Whiskers).

Again, don't bite me... I'm JUST saying. I don't expect anything. We all live in the real world, so we all can see that the three are similar. You can pretend that it's original and they're all very different all you like, the fact does still remain that there are three western dragons and one eastern. On a constructive note, I think the dragon needs more scales now. He had tons before.

Kelpie, Chimmy: I think you two are getting way too defensive over this. I realise most of the staff are incredibly besy at the moment, including you, and I in no way mean this as unappreciative. However, I really believe we, the users, should have atleast been polled on the dragons revamp. The changes are major, and we've been polled on much, much minor changes. You may see three different species of dragon, there, but all I see is a simple dragon, then two more detailed versions of it. Before, we had two dragons of each type, two western(a furry and stone/scaled) and two eastern(again, a furry and scaled). Now the ratio has been thrown off, and we have three, very similar looking pets. Again, I in no way mean this in a rude mannor. ._.;

Dyah! Don't go biting me, I just think it feels like it's unbalanced. Sure, there's a ton of canines, but there are plenty different types of canines in real life. There's plenty different types of cats in real life. There's only two real differences in dragon types in real life... body type, I mean. That's not counting the wyvern and serpents, of course. Just an opinion, don't think I'm whining. It's pointless to whine, the staff isn't about to do anything about it. Already figured that fact out... so I'll just deal and pick out a new species for my Lorek, since I'm not about to waste any currency on an angelic potion for him to change on me.

The Spectrum Chai wont change his. her look will she? I am new to the revamping of pets here and not sure.. I just love love her swoopy paw! I would be so bummed if she changed.. I love the new Chai look however!

Why does there even need to be a ratio? Last I checked, all of these pets were originally created by someones imagination, who cares if there is more of one "style" of dragon. It's all up to the artist imagination and interpretations of what the pet might be based on.
And again, it's up to the staff to decide whether or not the users need to be involved in whatever they're doing.

The Chai is adorable.
I however have absoloutely nothing positive to say about the dragon so I shall not comment other then to say The old pose made them unique this strips them of the personality they once had. I was seriously hoping the galactic version was not a taste of what was to come. I am curious as to why this revamp was not posed since it was so drastic when they have polled before in regards to minor revamps.

Kelpie, the revamp throws off the western-eastern dragon ratio now. ;_; I know it's weird, but I find that to be unbalanced and unfair to the eastern dragons. *is very weird*

The dragon isn't any more like the magnus and dragarth than the kumos, telenine and montre are alike. They're all similar species, but each has its own distinctive characteristics.

Guys, we certainly meant for the dragon to be different. We wanted to distinguish it as a eurpoean-based dragon pet, which is why the whiskers are done away with. For those people who want an Easter based dragon with whisers, there is always the paralix.

What happened to asking the users, is that the users, can never agree on anything, you can't make everyone happy. So it's simpler to just have all the staff talk about what they think needs to be fixed, and to do what they think is best. If you have a suggestion for stuff start s-mailing staff, instead of whining and crying about something you don't like. Be adult about it people, come on.

The new Dragon is okay, but I really hope there aren't plans on revamping the Angelic version. I love how they currently, the tiny frame, awsome pose, and the wings. *Prays Astrisk doesn't have to change*

I just realized what made it look weird to me at least.
With the way that the back legs and back arch, the dragon's front arms's anatomy just look off e.o
And they're in an unnatural position
And the wings look like they're attaching too high on his back.
And yes, the whiskers were what characterized the dragon.

*attempting to retype her lost post* Nice improvement on the chai, but the dragon... not so much. The face could use some alterring, and its defining whiskers back. The eye could use a change, perhaps brighter, and the nose would be better shortened some in my opinion.

the chai is ok, but the dragon is...not dragon anymore. the subeta dragon had no wings and had whiskers. a lost pet again. i don't like most of the new graphics, really. everything has to be "new" and "cooler", but it's not always an improval. continue like this, and soon everything special i liked here is gone.

I like the chai. It's a good revamp, though I still don't want one.
I really dislike the dragon, though. It's lost nearly everything that made it unique from the Dragarth/Magnus. I think it needs to lose the wings and get it's whiskers back. I also find the feet a bit awkward. I think it's the shading. Oh well, I don't own one, so it really doesn't effect me I guess.

It's awful. I spent alot of sps getting a marsh potion for my dragon and now I may as well pound it as it looks awful. How can a pet just get changed like that with no consultation? Cant this be a new seperate dragon, or an option with a zapper or potion?? I want my CUTE dragon back..
