What do you mean Audacious? They do.

Audacious

It would be nice if the CS books definitely gave you ANY RD points...

Bailey_435

You could just drop the pretense and say you need money.
0

Extract

You have turned in 610 books to the Reading Drive.

that helped a bit :)

I've hoarded many of these books (well, not the ones in the CS, per say), so I've been having a blast turning 'em in. I've also had a blast with Alexander's quests and getting books from there to turn in as well. Even if I don't get a ton of books donated, I'm still having fun. Thanks again, guys!

To everyone complaining, I wonder what their solution would have been for rereleasing a book that was originally sold in the cash shop to prevent it from getting overly inflated.

Really, it's not about the money, there are LOTS OF WAYS to get retired and old event books to r turn in.. I don't have a lot of cash or sP currently. I am not doing great, but I think I will hit 100 or a little over. If you have steamworks trinkets leftover, or vesnali coins or any other site event currency that can buy event shop books, Like oh.. EpiCon.... you can get loads of books, and no real cash expenditure. Why don't the complainers stop kneejerking, sit back and think.. that's what this event is about. It's not easy. you have to apply some thought on how to get to your goal. Yes they re released some old cash shop items on sale, so people who could get them can. It's really nice of them, they didn't have to do that. And those who are saying this event is ill planned, are not thinking as well. This actually seems very well planned, what the issue has been is site load issues which they continue to work on. Give a little credit to the people who run this site, they work harder to make us happy than any other play site I have ever been on. Thank you Subeta Staff.

Erelyna

Yay! I need basically all of them for my pet, and I might buy some to turn in, too. I'm really liking this event so far. :D
0

Hetty

Thanks for bringing back the biographies. My pet is desperate to read them :) Archie won't be getting his hands on them for the reading drive, lol.
0

Extract

I was very much hoping for this :) Yay
0

sheral

Wow, 25% can you guys spare it after all the cw money you have to take in? Can you really have room in your pockets for more of our money so we stand an actual chance in this event?!
0

Rogue

Thanks for re-releasing these for the RD!
0

Ariel

I'm sorry you guys don't think it's planned out! We made sure to find ways to get as many old books out as possible during the event, and Keith has been working hard keeping the quests reasonable.
0

Inknote

I know you guys have never been greedy for real money (or at least not acted on that greed lol) but this REALLY feels like you making us pay to take part in your badly planned out event.

Idk I'm sure that's just me, I'm just saying I guess I'd feel better about it if this event seemed more thought out.

@Dunedainsith To address the "pay-to-play" nature of this event. Gold Account users get 10 extra shots at points a day than someone without a GA... a total of 70 points in a week-long event. A huge number of the books that can be turned in were Cash Shop books. Someone had to pay real money to get them into circulation. Even if it wasn't me. Basically, someone bought these perks with real money, even if there was a middleman... and if you want to get the achievements, and the prizes (including highly sought after weapons that previously could be earned without the expense of CSC), you have to spend money to get them.
0

SpiralingReaper

Erk. I know I shouldn't be, but I'm sad that the one I really want (for a pet treasure) is juuuust out of what I've got left over. Oh, well, I don't think it'll be that much pure!
0

Literature

Lol people will always find something to complain about.
Thanks Subeta! I wish I had some money for CSC, but I don't. :)
0

Muerte

I wish I could buy the Travel Guides to read to Calavera (woohoo at already reading the others), but alas I cannot afford them now. And most certainly cannot afford to get any for the drive.
But this was very awesome of you !

Dryad_182

I've been on Subeta long enough to know that you guys do everything you can to -avoid- being greedy when it comes to events and cash shop items (Uh, hello? You guys refund if a price difference happens!), so logically, I know this isn't a move to milk money from the players while exploiting the event. But even knowing that, I can't help but find this to be, I don't know, kind of in poor taste.. This event isn't holding up to the well thought out events that Subeta usually has. Despite the millions I've sunk into it already (and that's not including the value of the 2 years of trivia/plot/event books that I've also 'donated'), I really do hope the prize shop is amazing.
0

AnabellasSong

Nothing like giving the finger to users who paid full price for them, and held on to them all year waiting for the Drive. How disappointing.
0

Illyria

I don't get the people complaining...they could have left them at the original price if they were trying to be money hungry, but buying them for 57/75 csc is much cheaper than the inflated shop prices 0.o I'm not going to buy them because I hit the 400 achievement and don't see myself hitting 600 so its feels pointless but still,Thanks subeta! ^_^
0

Nostalgia_507

And ive been stuck with 20 csc for a month....so i didnt buy these books.
0

Nostalgia_507

I dont see why people are complaining. I am a bit annoyed because i only have 20 csc but im not complaining. If this was pay to play then everyone would HAVE to use real money to do anything. This is just an option and to be fair, you can just buy 100 csc from user shops so it is not as if Subeta is greedy. They are a business and every business needs real money. If Subeta was greedy they would make everyone pay to even log in. And this event is not only for those with money because there are alot of retired books. This is a good way to get rid of all those retired books to make way for more books im thinking. So, no, subeta is not greedy, no, it is not pay to play. You dont have to buy these books if you dont want to.
0

Orchipea

Just going stamp this event "pay to play" now. Thanks Subeta for making wonder if I shouldn't spend my money elsewhere... I was going to make my monthly donation as always, but this event has made me re-think that.
0

Doe

Got two of each one, so I can read one to my pet eventually, too. Thanks!
0

LunaWolf

I wish I could, and even if i was able to they would got towards my pet
0

Jive

Thanks for bringing these back...I need them for my pet!

As much as a pain as the offers used to be, I kind of wish they were still around so people with little cash and little sP had a chance of getting at least a small amount of CSC to use.
0

Darkrai

For what it's worth, yes I was able to use a coupon code with them.
0

Thomas

I don't understand why it's a problem them to put them back in the cash shop. They could have left them out... and they'd be ridiculous expensive instead. Subeta is past its 'money hungry' stage imo. This is more of a benevolent act to its users. After all, they were originally from the cash shop. So I don't really know how more would get out otherwise.
0

PoeticEnigma

This was predictable.
0

crashingnightingales

Sweet! I was hoping for this to happen! :D Having all those old books back will help tremendously in me reaching my RD goal this year! :D
0

Alaizabel

danggit, and again i don't get the CSC instantly when i buy them.. time to wait to write a ticket :D
0

Lina

Awww the Fringe Magazine Spring 2012 Edition isn't in there :'(
0

Thomas

Okay, thanks for the heads up. Not sure whether to wait for Black Friday. :P
0

Ariel

They might be there a little while after, but not too long!
0

Patience_363

'ok , this event is exclusively for the ones with monies :C'

I am also starting to feel this way :/
0

Thomas

Will they be retired again after the event, Ariel? :)
0

Carpathia

Hmm, maybe I can get some of the signed biographies for my gallery.
0

Ariel

That's a good question, Lawnbuddha. I put them in for 56 but they popped up at 57. I wonder if the rounding is doing it? I'll as a programmer when they get on.
0

Naddi

...I wish we could actually read those biographies. Like, actually read them uwu
0

Lawnbuddha

how is it that the official price for the signed biographies in the item descriptions is 56 CSC, but the current "sale" price is 57 CSC?
0

Budgie

Hot damn!
0

Alenwen

Wait - are we able to use a ash shop code on the books? They are on sale already so I am not sure? :)
0

barbie

Nice for the book collectors out there, but I'm gonna pass on this one.
0

Hamda

thank you!
0

Bioshock

Sweet, grabbed a couple of these from the hustler a few weeks back, glad I sold them before the Cash Shop release :P
0

Anasazi

ok , this event is exclusively for the ones with monies :C
0

Alenwen

AHHHHHHH I need them all for my pet QQ
0

Julie

That works for me.
