Food Market: New Honey Items
Plain old honey got you down? Get ready to smile, because I've got some new and delicious honeys at the Food Market that are sure to lift you back up. All these and the regular honey item can be used in any recipe that calls for honey so get baking!

The Blueberry Honey description reads weirdly, like it was edited but not checked to see if it still reads properly. To me it sounds like you need to invite a Bumbus to tea to get this kind?
Clover blossoms are quite pretty and they do not look like that. It looks like you put some leaves in the honey itself? Gross and bitter but maybe native Subetans like it that way.

@Amber I get that, it makes more sense, but in terms of reducing the costs for baking it feels like a wasted effort. The items are beautiful and more food is always welcome for my feeding pet, but for baking, it makes no difference.
And I didn't mean reduce the cost of Starting Kits, I meant creating different kits for each recipe. To create a cost ceiling of sorts (and one that is lower than 1mil preferably). Because as I pointed out, if you make one item in a recipe cheaper by allowing it to be replaced or changing the rarity, another item will take its place as the 'expensive one'. (Look at Pink Decorating Frosting or Dried Mint.) This means each (or at least most) recipe(s) will always cost 500k+ and well above.
And as a bonus, if Fantine offers the kits, that's sP being sucked right out of the economy instead of just changing hands. But that would ruin the fun of gathering items... It's tricky... :x

@Ziorac We did honey today because it’s spring, bees are buzzing, etc etc. Like I said we have plans of extending a lot of things, like vanilla. We’ve consistently been adding to the bakery feature instead of just letting things get to millions without doing anything about.
We’re not going to change the price of the kit. We are, however, going to release it as a free gift again at some point (which I’ve already posted about). I’m waiting on our next round of recipes so any items involved in those have a chance of going out via the kit. I keep an eye on the rarities and prices of various items using in baking and adjust them when needed. The baking powder is expensive because it used to be r75, which meant it didn’t vend. Now it’s in the 50s, which means you are likely to see it vend and restock more.

....Meanwhile Honey only costs like 15k, yet Baking Powder costs 900k. I appreciate the effort, but the direction could've been pointed elsewhere.
Besides, I've noticed a trend with all recipes; in each recipes, there is one item which is priced absurdly high (think Garlic Scapes or Pink Decorating Frosting) (though usually it's Baking Powder or Vanilla Extract) for no reason other than 'you need this one item for this one recipe, so it will be expensive.' It seems to be arbitrary too.
Baby Bear Tiered Cake is a good example. It requires none of the staple items I mentioned, just a bunch of random things. Some Frostings, Lemon Juice, some Food Coloring, etc. And yet, while of those items there are several in the Rare category, none of them cost more than around 70k. Except the Pink Frosting, with a rarity of 61 (normal). That costs 580k. Somewhere it was decided that item would be the item on which the whole recipe hangs in terms of cost.
This is probably hard to combat too. Nature of the economy. Feigned scarcity. Perhaps a way to solve it would be to offer kits costing 300k (or so) for each recipe so that a recipe will never cost more than 300k, a high price anyway. It happened when the Vanilla extract was part of the Starter kit for baking, since that cost 1mil and the extract stays below 1mil. Kits force the prices below a certain point. -shrugs- I don't know. As it stands now, I do not bake as much as I want to due to arbitrarily bloated prices. Staff is working hard to combat that and I appreciate it, but I fear that unless each item in every recipe has alternatives, there will always be feigned scarcity.

@crashingnightingales As you can see, we're constantly adding to our ingredients! Vanilla is on our list to expand :)

I'm really excited to have more honey items! But I really wish we could have another option or two for vanilla extract, like maybe imitation vanilla extract or something because vanilla extract has gotten ridiculously expensive.
