It was 2013 and the excitement for Pokemon XY was insurmountable. A rough and lonely time in my life, Pokemon had always been there for me. When sylveon was first revealed, first through leaks and then officially on Valentine's Day, it was cute and I liked it, but it wasn't until I saw its shiny that I absolutely fell in love.

I knew I had to have one. I had just gotten into competitive breeding, as XY made breeding much better and straight forward, and I knew that it had to be absolutely perfect. Hours it took of riding back and forth on my bicycle waiting for that golden ticket.

Finally! He hatched. A beautiful silver eevee, ready to be loved and pampered and fed only the most supreme of pokepuffs. Such an exquisite specimen deserved an equally exquisite name; Oberon, king of the fairies. He had to have it all: competitive IVs, EVs, and moveset, winning every contest in ORAS, having battle champion ribbons and elite 4 ribbons, he was flawless.

He's been with me ever since; since XY I've transferred him over to every single game, doing a complete playthrough with him in my party at the very beginning. Learning to love him all over again every time, playing and eating with him at camp. He's always there to make me smile.
