well, here goes my latest attempt at diary-keeping. guess i'd better start at the beginning.

my name is Neil Ramsey. i am twenty-nine years old, about to be thirty in a few months. i'm living in the suburban area of Buffalo, New York, and am currently looking outside at the three-ish feet of lake effect snow piling up outside my window. through the flakes descending from on high, i can see the people across the street who must be insane, because they're trying to put up Christmas decorations.

my roommate is in the kitchen of our half of the duplex, and i can smell cranberries and vanilla. he's making cookies again. i think baking is how Dane lets out his female side, and i can't honestly object when the things he can make are so delicious that i practically cream my pants every time. if he heard me make that "female side" comment he'd prolly try to deck me across the face and i wouldn't get any mouthgasmic cookies.

i wish Ezra would get his ass out of bed already, the sun has been down for three hours. i'd better go see if he's finally decided to stay dead.

nope, he's just being a lazy-ass. being up with the sun got his internal clock all screwed around. silly vampire.

oh, right. i should prolly mention that. we're an interesting set of roommies, are we: me, the flamboyantly gay were-leopard, Ezra, the Jewish vampire, and Dane, the transman who sees ghosts. he's told me that it's not ghosts specifically, but more like the auras that spirits give out, whether or not they inhabit a body. it's all the same to me, as long as he keeps baking those amazing cookies.
