April 2017. At last ???. After months of exhausting exposure to the awesome strength of the Ultimate Pet Zapper, I am finally me ?????. I am so happy, no more rushing back and forth every 2 hours, looking in the mirror and crying...... again. I can at last fully embrace my true lazy nature and lay back and relax, watch the world of Subeta and all of my pet friends go by, slowly raising a hand to wave as life passes by.

This is my story.

She’s her own little personal tornado. Restless and impatient one moment, calm and laid-back the next, like the eye of a storm. She can keep up with the boys, roughhousing and getting dirty alongside them. Her mother calls her Calamity, after the main character of an old movie. And she wouldn’t have it any other way. In her heart is the storm, even if her occasional bouts of laziness seem to speak to a different temperament. She’s two-sided that way. A body and mind in perpetual motion.

Perhaps one day she’ll be an adventurer. The heroine of the story. Not a damsel needing to be saved. For now, she’s a young girl. The only battles that need fighting are those with sticks and snowballs; the only monsters that need vanquishing are the ones in her own imagination. Someday there will be mountains to climb, deep ravines to cross, jungles that need a path cut into. For now, taking a running leap across a stream without touching the water is good enough for her.

Calamity means disaster. And perhaps the storm inside her is what that name speaks to, but for now, she’s just a mild rainstorm, not a torrential downpour. The tornado can be restrained, if only for a little while. Contained. Toned-down. Maybe she is a calamity waiting to happen; but wouldn’t that just make life more interesting?

...But maybe first, a nice long nap is in order.
