She is the Black Dragon, the Terror of the Skies, the Dark Master's Puppet.
She is Cynder.

Even before she was born her story began. An ancient prophecy foretold the coming of a purple dragon. One which would end the reign of The Dark Master.The Dark Master, Malefore, could not allow the birth of this dragon so sent his minions to raid the Dragon Temple and destroy all the eggs inside.Meanwhile Ignitus had taken the purple dragon egg and hidden it way from Malefore's prying eyes, despite wanting all the eggs ruined to prevent the prophecy Malefore needed a Dragon to open the portal in which he was encased so that night one other egg remained.

From the moment she hatched, Malefore began to poison her mind, turning her against the world. Soon her heart was filled with hatred and a deep rooted obsession for Malefore.

She might never have broken free from the spell if it hadn't been for Spyro. The puprle dragon that Ignitus has saved the night Malefore's minions raided the temple. After being defeated by Spyro once in combat, he, despite the protesting of his companion Sparx, chose to save Cynder and brought her back to the Dragon Temple.

But the Dark Master's influence still clung to Cynder's heart, choking it slowly.
