Prehistoric Subeta is much different from Modern Subeta. It used to be a world of the dinosaurs. The Mortikings, Velosotors, and Bhakorus ruled the land while Swampies conquered the ocean. The loyal Kumos used to be ferocious rulers of the Arctic Frost and many different species of today did not even exist yet. Many of the present-day dinosaur minions used to be larger and walk the continents of Subeta freely.
Although Bhakoru lived across Subeta, present-day Veta was the home of a majority of them. It was an area where Mortikings did not frequently roam and their biggest threat were the Velosotors. A beautiful female Bhakoru lived at the Veta. She would join up with the others of her species to fend against a Velosotor attack, but often times kept to herself. While taking a drink from the lake one day, a strange creature caught her eye. It stood on two feet but did not have a pelt like a Kumos or hide like a dinosaur. It made sure to keep its distance from the Bhakoru. Although bizarre, she did not fret over the creature. It looked scrawny and since she is an herbivore, she had no desire to attack it. She went back to enjoying her cold drink.
The strange creature was making the Veta its home as well. Sometimes she would watch it curiously as it would chop down trees and build with them. It appeared like it was making a shelter for itself. She also assumed it was a carnivore as it would often light a fire to cook up its food. It always kept something close to it: a weapon of sorts made from wood in the shape of a wishbone with a leather strap. A small pile of rocks sat next to it. The more the creature adapted to its environment, the more apprehensive it made the Bhakoru feel. The creature looked up from its fire and locked eyes with the Bhakoru. She could sense a look of anxiety in its eyes as well that gave the Bhakoru confidence. She continued to feed off berries.
Several days have passed and food was becoming scarce. Between the Bhakoru and other dinosaur creatures, berries were being consumed faster than they could grow back. This was often the reason the female Bhakoru liked to keep to herself. She only had to worry about feeding herself. Remaining in Veta, she ventured to a new area. Although still close to the lake, the environment was still unfamiliar. She had to learn her surroundings: where Velosotors like to hang out and how many other dinosaurs there are in the area. But finding new, fresh berries made the task worth it. Right when she was about to begin her feast, she felt a sharp pain in her hip. She turned around to find her attacker: the strange creature.
Its anxious posture was a thing in the past. It was covered in armor of its fallen victims and its weapon had been upgraded. Now it wielded a ranged weapon. It was made of wood and could shoot sticks with pointed rocks from a much further distance. It aimed and shot another one of those sticks at the Bhakoru, right in her hip again. She snorted and cried. Although she is not a carnivore, she would fight against one for her life. She began to charge the creature. It shot a couple more sticks into her before it turned around and fled. The Bhakoru did not back down; she had to take care of this thing once and for all. The creature led her to the lake and hopped onto one of the things he created from the trees. It stayed afloat on the water and he steered it deeper into the water. The Bhakoru did not think twice and jumped into the water, pursuing her attacker. But as it fired more and more sticks into her, she began to feel tired. Her exhaustion was making it harder to swim and she was forced to turn around to escape. She could feel more shots fired into her as she swam desperately towards the shore. Once she made it to land again, she felt incredibly tired and simply went unconscious right there.
The Bhakoru awoke to find the creature standing next to her. But she did not feel threatened by it once she noticed how full her stomach felt, the first time in months. The creature had actually knocked her out using a crafted arrow mixed with some black berries, a narcotic of sorts in Prehistoric Subeta, to calm her down in order to feed her. Even though the creature stressed her out from attacking her, it was only to help her in the end. She felt the beginnings of a trust towards the strange, powerful creature. She was the creature’s first tame.
Weeks have passed and the duo have become strong allies. She helped the creature gather supplies while it kept her happy and well-fed. The creature, which she later learned was a human, was advancing in Prehistoric Subeta day after day. The two had even conquered their fears and tamed a Velosotor. She never imagined living cohesively with a carnivore like the Velosotor, but she had to admit that she felt safer than she ever did before. But their work was never finished. The creature continued to gather more and more supplies to take on stronger opponents. It was all in preparation for their next goal: to tame a wild Mortiking.

Dinosaur is a fandom pet from the game Ark Survival Evolved with a twist incorporating Subeta. Developed by Studio Wildcard, Ark is a survival video game where players must survive against dinosaurs, natural disasters, and other players. Although I gave it a spin by incorporating Subeta and its pets, the ultimate idea belongs to Ark and Studio Wildcard!
