He's not picturesque perfect, nothing really close to it at all.

He's a bit tall and lanky and seems to still be growing. His hair is always a mess, his clothes always a little dusty or dirty too, no matter if he's just done laundry or not. His glasses are a little askew on his face, he adjusts them almost by the half hour, hoping to fix the mistake of stepping on them one day when the dog was running the house wet.

He rubs his hands under them though, pressing his palms into his closed eyes before he runs them through his hair, causing the mess to become even more disarray. He does't care though, the mess being nothing for him. Just like the looks he's getting from passing people in the hallway. He's one of the younger years in the school, but he's still taller than most males, his own lanky nature not on his appealing side. He brushes it off though, the looks and his thoughts as he pulls an apple from his backpack and takes a bite out of it.

He's waiting, though he's not sure for what.

It's been twenty minutes since the last bells of the day rang off, his body unwilling to move from the hall just yet for some unknown reason. Possibly because he doesn't want to go home, possibly because he can't. He doesn't understand it all, but after finishing the apple he tosses the core out onto the school yard to decompose and treks back to his home. The path isn't difficult, but he lives on the outskirts of town, his place a rundown farmhouse that an Australian Shepherd runs out of to greet him. The door remains unlocked and opened at all times, animals and a few people in and out the doors all day no matter the time of year.

He ruffles the dog's head before he throws his backpack onto the balcony, running with his dog into the backyard. Whatever was once upon a time a span of grass and open air has now become trees belonging to different fruits and gardens belonging to different vegetables. One after another after another. There's nothing else he does with his time now, grabbing a hose to start to spray down each one slowly. The further ones back he can't manage, so fills up a few watering cans to finish the job. It takes until sundown before he's even more dirty than before, though his dog has run himself into exhaustion and so has he.

It takes only a few minutes to walk back up to the house, spraying his companion down with the hose there for a bit before he drags his feet into the building and grabs his backpack. His homework is done already, something he finished on the weekend before he made it back. His house is empty though as he walks through it, the silence only enhanced by the dogs pants and the fact he won't leave his owners side. It takes a few minutes for Zack to close the doors and lock them, a nightly ritual so he isn't bothered by too many insects, and it keeps Diesel safe from chasing animals and cars.

It's another quiet night, and three years since he's seen his parents.
