------------
Maleficent's sinister frame poured into the lightless room in a river of liquid night, illuminated by the faintest gleam of toxic green and rich purple. The witch swirled as a pool of pure darkness upon the cold marble floor for a moment or so, before rearing upwards and transforming into her usual slender self. She loitered in one of the four corners of the bedroom, standing within its shadows, motionless and barely breathing. She was silent and almost completely invisible within the blackness that she had made her temporary home, aside from the eerie glow that emitted from her half-closed, serpentine eyes.
After what seemed like a small eternity of waiting, the wicked fairy had almost given up on her plans of corrupting the moody prince. With a roll of her slit pupils, Maleficent tightened her grip upon the gold metal staff she always kept by her side. Diablo on the other hand, simply ruffled his feathers and hunched his wings a little more, before vocalizing his impatience with a single, lengthy caw. In a bid to silence her disgruntled companion, the witch let one of her petite hands raise a lone finger to her blood red lips- so that she could softly whisper a reassuring 'shh' to the corvid. It wasn't long before both her and Diablo found themselves distracted, however, for the sound of heavy footsteps could faintly be heard ringing throughout the neighboring corridors. Accompanying the hasty trudging was the banging of slamming doors and crashing of breaking pottery. In a brief moment of panic, Diablo spread his sooty wings and soared down from the open window he had been perching upon- so that he could seek comfort from his malevolent owner. Maleficent could only smirk as she greeted her pet with a gentle caress, whilst her intense eyes rolled over and settled in the direction of the approaching commotion. "Patience is a virtue my dear, soon we shall have what we came for".
With her eyes widening in anticipation and lips sprawling into a ghastly grin, the fairy soon ceased her affection towards Diablo. All of her attention had turned to be placed solely upon the door, as she listened to its lock click and observed its handle lower. The prince was far more unhappy than she had expected, yet his foul mood only served to increase her chances of success. The sorceress secretly watched as Stefan, son of Aurora and bearer of the previous kings name, stormed into the room, for her tall body was hidden within the sanctuary of the corners darkness. Maleficent even went as far to close the door behind him as he barged through it and stampeded towards the unmade bed, whilst her unhappy crow scooted closer to her cheek. The gentle thud of the old oak door stopping within its frame was enough to alert Stefan to the intruders presence, yet it did not grant him the privilege of viewing whom had been so bold as to enter his royal sleeping quarters. At first, he assumed that it was just another chamber maid or servant, come to tidy his room, that was until he spotted the dainty, ghoul-green hand that was still resting upon the door. With his fair brows knitting deeply together, Stephan allowed his eyes to finally pull from the red-tipped digits that were gently placed upon the ancient wood. It wasn't long before his pupils were met by Maleficent's own, however, for she had been staring at him from the moment he had entered the room.
"Happy birthday, Stefan".
------------
Do not get clever with me boy, for you stand before a great power. Your father may of defeated me, but you are a far cry from his valiant soul- as your family so kindly remind you each and every day. Now, do you wish your sister, your mother and your father ill fate? Do you wish for them to be cursed for a hundred years and then a hundred more? If it is revenge you seek, then give me the sword, give it to me I say! Do my bidding and that crown will be yours. But be warned, Stefan, for there is no undoing what will be done- so think long and hard on who's side you wish to take. Betrayal, especially to me, comes with a heavy punishment. Decide what is more important to you- your pride, or your precious family. *Cackle*
