Join me in a song.....

Search for the gold orb by day,
the depths of sorrow will follow your flight.

Seek the laughter, the illusion of hope,
the place where death is feared
and nightmares rein.

And you shall slumber....
forever in its embrace.

The kora slipped through the evening light of the forest like a, well, like a thief. That was the title given to the nimble creature, among other names too distasteful to list. Thieving kept her alive and that was all the reason she needed to keep doing it until she completed her task.

Blue-gray fur and livid green eyes, she was dressed as most would expect, bags and daggers at her waist, covered in a mix match of rags and layers of cloths, each heaped over the next in a assortment of patches and hurried stitch marks. She didn't bother with things like shoes, too noisy for her line of work. Gauze wrapped both her hands and feet well enough to allow her nimble limbs freedom. Four long tails bobbed behind her, each curled protectively around a single orb of fluttering light. At all times, hues of blue, pink, purple and green pulsed from them like tiny heartbeats.

When she had a moment to pause, it was to wonder which road to take. Long ago, a task had been given to her, had been given to them... before the nightmare descended on their lives and changed everything.

Once she had had a home. Once she had a family of five others, brothers and sisters, all tasked with the same job. Now, she was all that was left. It had been given with the best of intentions, it had also done some unrepairable damage, leaving the feline-like creature with a sailor's tongue and a temper to match any fool hearty enough to tangle with her. It wasn't just thievery the young kora was wanted for, full of tricks and hidden weapons, there were few who desired to cross her path. She'd seen her share of betrayals and deaths, each blackened mark down her back testimony to sins she would never outrun.

The orbs that followed her lead were three of six she needed to find, six magical ocarinas that would seal away the monster that haunted her. The demon, who in fact lay shacked in limbo in the forth dark green orb. She needed all of the ocarinas to permanently seal him. So now she searched for them, having nothing to go on but her own wit and the knowledge she'd gained with the hard lonely road she traveled.

Her name was Windsong. Few were graced with her real name and perhaps it was ironic in nature, she sure thought so when with a touch of her hand, she could summon one of the orbs, shaping it into a ocarina to play among other shapes for more dangerous encounters.

Sleep found those when she played the blue, laughter unheeded with one touch of the pink and illusions were brought on by the victims own memories. The longer she played them, the the more dangerous the melody could become, sometimes her victims never woke up or laughter brought them to their graves too soon, even insanity found those who watched their own memories consume them. The demon's ocarina was only one she didn't play, not unless her life depended on it and even then, it was a last resort. His song brought only death and with each time she had to summon him to her aid, she grew weaker, its shifting and cracked surface proof that she couldn't hold him for much longer.

The kora raised her long jewelery laden ears in a nervous action, always alert, expecting a knife in her back. A lifetime of wandering from place to place didn't mix well with things like rest and a full stomach. The thief took them like she took everything else, on the go. And right now, she was on the go, running actually, a bag of stolen goods swinging merrily along her back.

It should have been another day, another flawless escape. But today, Windsong found herself pursued by the sentries of a local city she's plighted several rare items from. They were persistent enough to corner the lone thief into a thick grove of ironwood trees. With her touch, the blue orb shifted into a pale blue ocarina, closing her eyes to the melody it created as she pressed it to her lips. Its soft notes were irresistible, soft and lulling anyone who heard them into a deep sleep. But the men only surrounded her, smiling as they pointed to the plugs in their ears. So, they had learned from previous mistakes.

Don't make me do this... she warned softly in earnest but the guards were reading their weapons.

She had no choice but to reach for her trump card, fingers curling across the last of the orbs, black green light trembling at her touch. A chilling call echoed through the silence, the air becoming thick with the sound of laughter as sweet as rotten meat. A shadow of death appeared, green stripes and eyes of hunger.

After that, there was the sound of bones snapping, screams that sent birds panicking into the sky. Ruin filled the clearing and there was no sight of the thief, only bodies she had left behind and another sin to add to her long list...

Breed: Kora
Age: young adult

Abilities/Ocarinas Powers:
Blue: Slumber
Pink: Laughter
Darkmatter: Illusions
Graveyard: Death/Summons Forsaken

Those who hear one of her flutes fall under her spell. The longer the spell, the more dangerous it becomes. The orbs also seem almost... alive. A burden she carries alone.

She can also summon a demon with the graveyard ocarina if her need is great... but shell only use him as a last measure.

Personality: sharp of tongue, witty, untrusting of the living. She is sweet and expresses shyness... but dont let appearances fool you, this nimble thief will take you for all your worth and leave you broke in the middle of no-where. She uses her assortment of enchanted ocarinas to lull others into sleep, turn their money into spiders, make them laugh until they pass out, robbing them blind in the process. Theres a deeper darker reason to her ways but shes too ashamed to let others know.
