Permanent's Design
There comes a time in almost every subetian's life, to have an animal character used to represent themselves online. This animal character is known as a fursona. For weeks I contemplated whether or not to have a fursona and what purpose it would serve me.
Well after some time I finally came to the decision that I would indeed have one. However I am no artist. So I got my good friend Ellis, who at the time was toothless, to make me a fursona based off of some ideas. She basically had full on artist control. Unfortunately, she has been gone from subeta for a few years now.
I basically told her all my favorite things. I love German Shepherds, Fedoras, Navy, Black, Sliver and Dragons and the 1920's. I wanted a combination of all of those things. Here is the result: Reference Picture and this is her Face Marking Refrence
This new fursona was beyond what I could ever dream of. It was perfect. Just the right balance between dragon and german shepherd. The paws were fierce and the horns were perfectly placed. I was speechless when I first saw it. From that point on I knew what to do with the design. I would have to pick out a name, a subeta pet similar to the design, get some overlays, a pet profile, some pet treasure and try to make a spotlight winner. And lo and behold, you are looking at all the work I have put into her.

More Background
So you know, I intended to at first make her a separate character. Now over the years I have decided to make her a tribute pet to myself. A weird concept I know, but I feel that everyone should be able to celebrate all the challenges in life they have overcome and in doing so they themselves are reminded of how strong they really are. By no means was my life more or any less difficult than any other person,I just am doing this to celebrate myself.

Permanent's Meaning
Permanent is by all means my favorite word in the English language, hence the username, the pet and the tattoo.(Yes my very first tattoo is indeed the word Permanent with a fedora) The definition is "lasting or intended to last or remain unchanged indefinitely." At the time that this word became my favorite I was in the hospital. I was in the hospital all the time and it was quite annoying. There is nothing like uncertainty especially with a health issue that really tests a person. I was in the er almost daily, sometimes spending days to weeks there, I would go home and then return again either a few days or a few hours later. I got very close to the staff there, the er nurses and doctors knew me very well and we basically just spent the time chatting whenever teachers,friends or family were not visiting. One nurse in particular Jaime, he sat by my bed and told me he was impressed with me in general. At that point I had been in the ER about 2/3rds of the year (Not consecutively). He told me that despite the uncertainty and the pain, he admired how permanent my character was. I was always cool, calm, and collected instead of freaking out or being upset with staff. Always rational and blunt with everyone and he admired it.At that point it really just like hit me, I was tearing up and gave him a hug but it was just the thing I needed to hear. I can't tell you why it hit me so hard, but it just made me appreciate myself because he was right. I was handling everything very well despite all the changes that were affecting my life. Even now that my issues are better controlled, I'm still the same person and I hope to always be me. Even though I strive for stability in my life as do most people, I like certain things being permanent.
