Lord Whitfield was really fed up with these newfangled contraptions. No matter how he turned the knobs or twiddled the dials, there was an incessant scratching noise in the background

"Blasted radio! True gentlemen read the news anyway...," he muttered as he walked towards the door.

When he opened the door to pick up his morning paper, he discovered the source of the scratching and what was soon to be a dear friend. A young Demi sat on the doormat, staring up at him with hungry eyes. The lord looked at the shivering bundle of bones and sighed.

"Well, come on then. And bring the paper with you.," he said while ushering the Demi towards the kitchen. Despite his best efforts, he began to warm to the Demi which appeared to view him as a walking sofa.

"...I think I'll name you Snugglesworth."

Although this would be the point where a young man and his new pet set out on exciting adventures, Lord Whitfield was not a young man. His adventures ranged from the thrilling world of tea to the latest in men's millinery. Shocking.

Thus, Snugglesworth began to learn the ways of an English gentleman.
