.Salem - devourer of souls.

He was once proud, a separate entity under no rule then the law of morality, before the corruption of the underworld enslaved him, and he developed a soul, whilst losing his status. He is a shadow of him former self, and the guilt and self-knowledge of a soul has driven him mad, and left him with nothing else but the need to regain his former power, making him a willing servant and an underdog. This burning change to his soul has burned it black, as seen in the steady charring of what remains of his fur and hide, down to the bone.

warped sense of self; possessive; obsessive.

RP Excerpts of a mad man. Lufiria belonged to the rp partner, whose posts are in italics. (in reverse)

Eyes darkening he lifted up a talon, raising his right paw to slash it across the wrist, blank unwavering even as the blood dripped down through the dark to splash against the cold stone of the passage floor. Idly noting that his blood was thicker and darker then the last time he had spiled it (lack of movement for a century would cause the bloodcells to clot in their veins, he supposed) he got to his feet, and padded sliently through the dark until he was abreadst with her, useless paw lying limp against the stone. Closing his eyes as he mouthed the words of the death gods, he tilted his now useless paw until the blood oozed down his wrist, hitting his fur and collecting, before his left talon shot out and stabbed through the steadily solidifying mass, chanted mantra becoming audible as his voice raised and the words came faster and faster. Pupils dilating until they just about disappeared, he threw his head back, power molding and shaping the mass with the shadows, until it was a swirling, wreathing ball of energy- and his pupils snapped back into focus as his whole stance changed and he stabbed downward, talons spread and flat as he ignored the burning touch of her skin and forced the wards down through her chest and into her heart.

There was silence.

And then-

----------

Lufiria still partially asleep curled up a bit from where she laid unaware of what was going on still and not knowing the person she had let into her camp had taken her and dragged her off to where ever she was at and to who ever were intrested in her didn't know as far as she knew she had drifted off to sleep in her cloak again.

------

Darkness. Pure, undisturbed darkness. He grinned. This was just the way he liked it; light was just so cumbersome, and annoying, and painful- but here, here he was in his element. He breathed in the slightly musky air deeply. It would be a good night tonight.

A rustle to his left drew his attention once more to his package, and shutting his eyes briefly he made the shadows recede from where they encased the girl entirely; as there really was no point in maintaining them in this darkness where it would just be a waste and she would be unable to see or move anyway. Yellow gleamed as the movements became more frequent, muscles trembling a nervous impulses began to hit them again. Although... His brows furrowed slightly as he watched her stirring form cause ripples and waves roll through the dust that was the air, finger tips glistening softly confirming his thoughts as power returned steadily to her warming limbs. That would be a hindrance. If her power returned, she could maybe try something, and he would be forced to deal with it, distracting him from his current task of navigating through the dank maze that was the holdings of his superiors, which would then cause him to lose his concentration and thus stall them, eating even more of the time out of the rapidly shortening band he had before the meeting of elders he had been ordered to attend. He grimaced. He had only one option. Block her power at it's source before she woke up. Simple enough task, and quick, completed in a maximum of five minutes with little to no power so his main concentration would not waver- but with one nasty condition.

To complete the seal, he had to use his blood to open the gate (easy enough, for his body no longer felt pain after all the transformation), but then he had to make the sign over her heart.

And that required touching her.

His eyes gleamed dangerously as he cursed fluently for a second in anger. But there was nothing he could do about it. It had to be done.

------

ooc: Hum....xD so I should probably have her wake up in the next post or two?

Lufiria whimpered softly as she was dragged along but did not stir yet as she was carried off towards the mountain seemingly unaware of anything going on outside of the sleep she was in just feeling a good bit tired and relax while she was sleeping currently.

--------

Slight smirk growing into a full blown grin, he increased the flow of shadows, winding them around and around as the steadily growing cocoon darkened. Once she was encased in pure darkness, he closed his eyes, concentrating, and sent a mutlitude of little streams from the dark mass into her pores, flowing along her blood stream until they reached her mind and saturated it, slowing -but not stopping entirely- the nerve impulses, until her heart rate was slow and even and her breaths long and slow. Opening his eyes again, he surveyed his work sharply, smoothing out any lighter patches until it was like staring into the dark never ending pit of hell. She could remain in that slightly comatose state for a couple of hours before it would become a problem; and then a couple of hours after that before it actually became fatal. He had plenty of time. Grinning and leaning back onto the tree beside the fire, he closed his eyes. Time to wait out this storm.

----------------------------------

A crackle to his left; he glanced up sharply, an angry hiss slipping from between ragged jaws as he was forced to make a sharp lurch to the right, claws leaving deep scores in the sodden grass as he righted himself and doubled his pace. An hour had passed since he had first put the girl under, and the damn storm still not seeming to be letting up even an inch had forced to accept that it wasn't going anytime soon, and as he'd get wet anyway, better to make an earlier start then risk hitting sun rise before they got there. He grimaced, teeth grinding as he avoided yet another bolt of lightning - were these the gods warnings? - before feeling a sense of relief as he caught sight of the jagged mountain up ahead. Yellow flashed. They were nearly there.

------

Lufiria let out a yawn and collapsed her eyes closing as she fell into sleep holding Fireheart in her arms as she laid there sleeping not even noticing the tendrils of darkness wrapping around her just that she was very tired and wanted to sleep currently.

-------

"Ah. Perfect. I'll add it to my route."

Catching her yawn, he grinned inwardly, grabbing an oh so very small tendril of shadow and sending it to circle lazily around and around the girl, slipping in the slightest suggestion of sleep as it twirled around her form. Lips curving slightly in a smile, he nodded at her, watching as her eyelids seemed to gain weight and become even harder for her to open.

-----

"Not to far maybe a mile or less from here but otherwise not particulary far" she said' softly towards him yawning a bit the sound of rain falling making her feel rather sleepy as she sat there obviously having had gotten herself a good bit comfortable currently.

-----

At the mention of the village he stilled, attention centering directly on her once more. Village near by? That would be awkward. More than awkward, annoying. His eyes darkened behind their lids, but he stopped his train of thought in its tracks. He needed more information before he could do anything; and besides, there was that damn storm, he could really do without having to drag her along in that. Opening his eyes lazily and forcefully keeping his pupils dazed and sleep muddled, he drawled out;

"How far is this village roughly from here? If it's not too far, I could add it to my route." Huffing slightly, he adjusted himself in a more comfortable position by the fire, visibly stifling a yawn.
