She killed a man, a court favorite. She killed him for love, she did. Or because he wouldn't. Love, that is. Or love the right one: her. She couldn't stand it. Couldn't stand the way he preferred those pretty blue eyes, so wide and mortal. She'd show them; she did; she had; flashbacks flicker.

Now it's different. She served her time, has the scars of exile to prove it. Tries to hold it together, walks barefoot, glamoured through Ironside, watching. Searching.

Out through the fields and the woods
