No good deed goes unpunished...Truer words were never spoken, especially when it came to talking about Malvado. No one would have expected a humble cattle ranger would become the most mythical figure in the west. Times were hard back then, and even the basic necessities were hard to come by. Things like medicine and doctors would cut entire weeks from a family's food budget, and it was the working man who suffered. Injuries, maladies, and the not-so-occasional robbing weren't making it any better. One day, as talk spread after a particularly bad hold up in town, Malvado was fed up. There was only one solution to the poverty and the criminals, and that was take on both, by way of the rich. It worked for a time, as trains and carts would fall to Malvado and his men. They managed to chase the competing highwaymen far from their home to take their marks and any goods they had. It created a good deal of prosperity for that town, but just because you give away your money, doesn't keep you from succumbing to greed. It was too much for a gang of their size to handle, trying to hold up a train with the sheriff on board. It was a miracle that no innocent lives were lost, but the same couldn't be said of some of Malvado's most trusted men. Their solidarity was weakened, and they soon came to find out that the sheriff was pronounced dead that afternoon. Civilians from the hold up were forced to bear witness to what was being drummed up as cold murder. It happened during another hold up. What remained of Malvado's posse had banded together to take on another train, by the books. What no one had been expecting was the state troopers. Malvado fought the good fight, but he eventually sacrificed his freedom so that the rest of his crew could escape and return home."Go!" was the last word anyone outside the law had heard from him.The execution came not a week after. Everything, every charge, had been laid upon the Robin Hood of the West. At least that's what his men called him. It was a grim sight, as Malvado stood on the gallows, noose over his neck and the spirit beaten from him. He'd been interrogated brutally to sell out his comrades during the robberies, but there was no loosening his tongue. Sentenced to death, he silently swore to return.Years later, Malvado remains just as much as a myth as he had back then. Some claim to have seen him, while others say he never existed at all. Whatever the case, the man was determined to remain a mystery, his legacy alive in the heart of those who feel betrayed by wealthy and hurt by the evil.A spirit of what's right, and what's wrong.
