The days don't seem so long now.

I've seen it carved into the sides of old buildings while crawling through the decaying streets of a world I've never known.
A silent whisper forever haunting me.
Once I had thought I would be the one to save the world. Immune. Impervious. Safe.
Turns out I was just another dead end, a hope killer for humanity.
But at least I still have Joel, he keeps me alive, sane. Actually, I think we keep each other sane.
We have to believe there is a way to save ourselves from all of this.
Surviving means you are living for something, existing just enough so you can see that horizon.
And that is where the truth lies, and that will always be my destination.
