Legacy Name: Whale

Whale, like many other Tutani, was born in the vast ocean between Delphi and the Sacred Lands. His world was filled with an endless blue abyss as far as the eye could see. His pod would roam the seemingly endless deep waters all day every day. Whale grew tired of this lifestyle, surely there's more to the world than this, he thought, but so far the big blue was all he knew.

One day something shiny caught Whale's eye, he glanced down and saw something twinkle in the depths below. While his pod were distracted, he swam downwards, on and on towards the mysterious object. Suddenly the sea just stopped, and Whale was faced with a wall of rock; the seabed. Whale had never actually seen the bottom of the ocean, he had always wondered if it were just a rumour, but here it was. He then remembered the glistening object, and finally he saw it; a small golden chain. That's it!? thought Whale. Frankly he was a little disappointed. He swam back upwards only to find that his pod had vanished, and all he could see was a dark shadow in the distance. Panicking, Whale swam frantically in the opposite direction. He swam for miles and miles until he could swim no more when all of a sudden he crashed into a wall of rock.

When Whale opened his eyes he was surrounded by a thousand bright colours. As his eyes adjusted he could see that he was lying on soft sand, with the surface of the sea just a small distance above him. Tiny fish swam all around, darting in between the colourful rocks and strange wiggly plants. Whale had found himself in a coral reef, and he knew almost immediately that he had found his home.

A coral reef may not be the obvious habitat for such a large pet, but Whale loved it. He was always very careful not to knock or damage the fragile corals, and if ever he saw any garbage ruining his precious home, he would grab it and throw it back onto the shore. Whale lived in such harmony with the coral, that it even began to grow on him! A fabulous crown of coral had sprouted from Whale's forehead, and he couldn't be more pleased.

These days the reef's residents refer to Whale as "Guardian of the Reef", a title which Whale takes very seriously indeed.
