Cream Ruffie
Hi, my name is Scritches! As you can probably guess, I love scritches -- behind the ears, on my belly ... you get the idea. I know Scritches doesn't really sound like a normal name, but let me tell you the story of my first Lumineve and maybe you'll understand how the name came to be.
My mom and dad had wanted to add another to their family for a while. They had visited a few pounds and shelters, but they never found the time or "the one" to be just right. They wanted to be sure their new family member would be comfortable in their lifestyle - a modest house with a small yard, but near a dog park to exercise and play. Luckily for them, one Lumineve as they were preparing the house with festive decorations and making cookies to share with their friends in the neighborhood, they got a call from a volunteer at a shelter they had visited in the last month. A puppy, just a few months old, had just shown up and the volunteer thought he'd be a good fit for their family.
With a gleam in their eyes, they got in the car and headed to the shelter. They were hopeful - cautiously hopeful - that they would bring home someone new to love. I was already waiting for them in the "greeting room" when they arrived. As they came into the room, I cautiously peeked my head out from within my bed.
"Hello," my soon-to-be mother said softly. "Would you like some scritches?"
I went home that day and saw my home decked out in all its holiday glory. I'd never seen anything so beautiful in my life.
