Kelaina was walking through the forest one sunny morning when she reached an area shaded by willow trees. The further into the forest she went, the thicker the foliage of the trees and the darker the shadows became. She felt unsettled by the contrast from light to darkness, like her hope had disappeared. Through the few visible shimmers of light cascading through the trees, she saw a human. She thought the human looked injured, so she went to investigate further.The human peered up at Kelaina. She noticed it was a male human. He looked tired and his clothes were worn and dirty. He was rubbing his shin, and upon closer inspection his tiredness appeared to be an emotion more similar to pain. "Are you okay?" she asked, giving him a prod with her paw. He looked up at her "No.." he murmered. He lifted up his jean and revealed a bite. "A kumos..." he struggled to find the words. Kelaina gasped. It really was a painful looking bite. "I'll do my best to fix you honey." she said. She improvised, finding different plant leaves and forming a makeshift bandage. In the process blood coated her left paw - she didn't mind or take any notice. She took him home, supporting him as he was lightheaded. She felt inspired and enlightened - she had possible saved a mans life.Kelaina decided she enjoyed helping people and other pets and began volunteering for the Saint Keiths emergency ambulance. No matter how hard she scrubbed, she could not remove the blood from her paw. At each emergency she attended, if any blood touched her it would not leave her. Kelaina feels happy and content because she is heIping people. She often thinks "I realise that my fur is coated in blood, matted from the stains of time. However, it symbolises humanity and the very essence of it. So in no way do I resent the lingering blood. In fact, I love it."
