A lone redwood tree sat in the middle of the forest and everyday the forest critters would come around and visit the tree to pay homage for the unity of the forest. One day, a young Northern Saw Whet owl named Hubsi decided to sneak away from the nest to visit the tree. Hubsi was the youngest out of the three owl babies that hatched this season and was still unable to fly. Her siblings Prion and Surith was asleep in the nest and her parents were out gathering food. Hubsi slowly waddled away from the nest and crept on each branch one by one til she safely reached the ground. Feeling bold, she sprinted toward the redwood tree not knowing she was going to the wrong direction. As she hastily ran through the forest she realized she was lost, a sudden sense of despair kicked in, and she started to fear she would never go home again.
