It was early morning. About 5am. I snuck downstairs as usual to take a sneak peak at all the glorious presents under the tree. But something else caught my attention! A cage? What could this be? I got on my knees and opened the crate. Inside was a peacefully sleeping Kumos! I couldn't believe it. I rubbed my eyes but it had in fact been real! The Kumos awoke and began to pant heavily as it burst out of it's kennel, tackling me to the ground. It licked my face and got off me, curious to see what else he could get into. He sniffed around the presents, stepping on them as he got closer into the tree. I pulled him back out as not to wake the others in my family. I held him in my arms, his tail wagging happily. It was like he and I were both feeling the same thing, joy that we'd found each other. I didn't want to put him back in his kennel, but I knew I had to. I knew I had to act surprised when my parents and sister awoke. I stuck him inside, and picked up a red toy bone that was on top of the cage. I gave it to him and closed the gate, wishing I could play with him more. I let out a happy sigh and went back upstairs to my room and closed the door.
