I am dealing with fools! Two of them. Cahin and Caha. French. Brother and sister. Ridiculous costumes.
 Fiora Cavazza

My story is one of betrayal.

I died in 1503 in service to Cesare Borgia of the Templar Order. The Order itself is very old, and it sought to create the New World Order; a world where bigotry had no place. I understand the Assassins had a similar plan, maybe we would have joined them too, but that doesn't matter now. I can no longer play a part on any of it; I can only watch as Cesare's twisted aspirations drag the Order away from their goal and toward his own, a goal of pure power derived from the Apple.

My brother, Cahin, and I were performers. The best in our craft, if I may be so bold. Our audiences often die of amazement at the acts we perform. Dances, flips, mock fights, each winning or losing, it didn't matterthe fools would cheer and be blind in merriment! That is how our first performance with Fiora Cavazza went.

Around 1497, our target was one who claimed to have foreign royal blood running through his veins. As I juggled my dual barbed daggers for the crowd, keeping their attention riveted, Cahin made his way to our target, throwing jibes and gestures at me so as to not draw attention to himself. When the time was right, his dagger went through the back of the chair and spilt the royal blood of our fool. As our guests began to flee, I quickly threw each of my daggers into a couple throats. Another who tried to run was quickly dispatched over a chair by Fiora. Her bladed fan was quite the weapon, I must admit.

Cahin laughs his way through the door. Caha tips over a candelabrum before tumbling out behind him. I remain convinced that they are totally mad... yet fun!

After that night, we would run into each other now and again. I would see her watching our performances, a slight smile on her face. She enjoyed our show! Cahin and Iwe never did her wrong, but her fear for her own pathetic life cost us ours. I wonder if the Assassins know how much she has told about them?

I write a list. Names of Cesare's agents. Everyone I know. Even those who were kind to me.

In 1503, we were performing in the streets. We had a large crowd laughing at our dances, mock battles, and our bladed juggling acts. As the musician plucked away at his trade, Cahin and I entered into one of our most intricate dances. We were nothing but performers that night. But as we movedtoo late, I saw the crowd had changed. White hoods were all around us. Letting go of Cahin, I spun around and threw a smoke bomb into the crowd!

My brother and I flee. I can see Fiora fanning the smoke away as Assassins either give us chase or choke. Why is she not helping us? I look elsewhere and see Cahin in ambush. He is agile with his daggers, but the Assassins have rapiers. Cahin manages to cut one Assassin's face, but that doesn't stop four rapiers from entering his gut!

Cahin! I call, but he falls to the ground, gone. Turning, I find Fiora. I draw my own daggers and charge. The Assassins fall back, unwilling to help Fiora. They want a show. We duel, my daggers and her fan blurring together in a flurry of swipes. Her fan slashes my arm and I drop a dagger. Unperturbed I keep at her. She has betrayed us! But she gets more slashes in and I know I am defeated.

Dropping my last blade I crawl over to my dear brother. Mon doux, Cahin. He is gone, but even in death he smiles. I cradle his body as I remove his mask. His face is still, motionlessI stroke his cheek and tell him I love him. I know the Assassins are moving in, but I don't care anymore. The New World Order, Cesare Borgia, the AssassinsI am done with them all. Cahin is goneOur performances are over.

I hear the crossbow bolt being drawn back, the thrum of the string as it propels it forward. None of it matters now. A quick and pleasant pain fills my head, and again, I am with Cahin. We have finally achieved the peace that we have been fighting for.

I don't know why we trusted her, but what lies behind us is always free of the smoke that clouds our vision. As it clears, the once hidden Assassins can't avoid being seen.

Fiora Cavazzamay your betrayal send you to the bowls of hell!
