Two white-blue eyes gleam at you through the gloom as you enter the room. You pause for a moment, wondering what this specter is doing on Rylee's trunk, but then you remember it is only her chinchilla, Loki.
"Shoo!" you murmur, waving your hands at it, your heart still pounding in your throat from the scare, but the chinchilla merely blinks.
"I said shoo," you say again, this time a little more loudly.
This time, the chinchilla actually stirs. Its eyes seem to challenge you as it hops off Rylee's trunk and onto her bed, where it fluffs its fur and settles into a fold in the blanket. Can't you see I was taking a nap when you stormed in here like a herd of hippogriffs?
Feeling the need to answer to the irritating little furball, you shrug and say, "This is our room too, you know." None of the pets belonging to the other first year Hufflepuffs had this much attitude, so why should this one pound chinchilla?
