Many people don't understand Mara at all. He's been in and out of mental institutions all his life. He suffers from hallucinations, fear of touch and a very strange irrational fear of the daytime. He was found at 5 years of age abandoned on a street corner with no memory of his past. The authorities never found out who left the boy behind, but they soon realized why. The child was strange and distracted. He refused to cooperate and often knew things he shouldn't, which he told with no verbal filter, much like any other child.

Mara was finally released by the police into child services who soon dumped him into the nearest mental facility. As a result to his long years under their "care" he is now dependent on drugs. And he's been on them all, at some point or another. Upon reaching 18 years of age, he struggled to show independence and finally achieved his goal: to be released into normal mainstream life.

What the drugs mask and people don't realize is that Mara is a psychic. He excels at reading the stars and the future, mostly in his dreams. The night tells him all the secrets of the souls around him.
