The Burning Desire
Chibimyst's nickname is Phoenix because he looks like a baby one.
Phoenix is the best fighter within his family, though more often than not he is a lover not a fighter.
He often prefers to play games with his best friend Spirit, usually roasting marshmallows or hot dogs.
Note: No he is not being BBQed, he is a phoenix, he has flames
"Oh yes 00_Phoenix wins again!" It had been such a good day for Phoenix, he honestly couldn't remember the last time he had such amazing luck when it came to online match ups! As he signed out from his computer he grinned widely, checking the clock on the wall. It was still too early to head out into Centropolis just yet, he would have to wait a little while longer before he could take off to Bits and Bytes. Ugh this was just too exciting, hard to believe the time had come for a new Betamon game, had it really been three years since the last one? Wow time sure does fly, though not fast enough for his liking when it comes to new games.
Betamon: Atebus had promised to be the franchise's best entry to date. He did keep his hopes up that the game would live up to the hype but he made sure not to aim too high, it just meant the disappointment wouldn't hurt so much when stinking old reality kicked in. For now he walked over to his collection of trading cards and made sure everything was as it should be. He was a stickler for detail and order, especially when it came to his card and game collections. Everything had to be where it was placed or else he'd feel a snag of panic about the whole thing. Luckily enough everything was just fine and so he relaxed.
Phoenix shifted a bit as he looked back over at the clock and silently groaned at how slow the hands were moving, at this rate it will never get to four. He should give one last sweeping look over his room to make sure everything was ready and then he could call his best pal Spirit so they could meet up outside Bits and Bytes. They had been planning to get a copy of the new Betamon game together since they first saw the announcement trailer on VidTube. Both friends had taken on extra jobs around the city to earn the funds needed and their hard work had finally paid off. Seeing that everything was as it should be and his system was waiting, Phoenix grinned to himself and hurried out the door.
Of course he scrambled back into his room and snatched up his wallet. Can't forget this, how embarrassing would that be? He made the mistake once before and he told himself constantly to never let that happen again. Spirit also made sure to never let him live it down, sometimes he could be a jerk.
The sky outside was free of clouds and the breeze was fantastic on his face. Phoenix hummed as he hurried down the sidewalk, fumbling with his phone a moment before finally managing to call Spirit. After a quick little back and forth the pair agreed to meet up outside the shop right at four, that gave them a half hour to waste. Perhaps he could stop by the vintage game shop and have a look around to pass the time, he had noticed a few board games on the shelf last time he was there. He had been very curious about them and considering he was a self proclaimed "Master of Games" well Phoenix did pride himself on playing nearly every type of game there was, no matter how tedious or boring they might be.
Entering the shop filled to the brim with strange and unique toys and games put Phoenix in a state of ease as he moved through the aisles and examined what was on each shelf with a sense of wonder. Had the owner gotten himself even more items since the last time, it sure seemed like it because he couldn't remember half these titles from before. One game box caught his eye and he picked it up, nearly having a laughing fit from reading the title alone. "Feed Me, Feed Me Hipottu? Oh my gosh I might have to get this so Spirit and I can totally play it one day... do I have enough though?" He checked his wallet to see how much sP he had and sighed. "Drat!"
Huh maybe he could ask the owner Mr. McGrumfy to put this on the side for him until he saved a little more? Sure he knew he could do without the game itself but honestly he really liked it and the fact it made him giggle and want to play more board games again was saying something. So Phoenix brought the game over to the counter and chatted with the shop keeper for a few minutes, explaining the situation. Ah good old Mr. McGrumfy was such an understanding man. He put the game away for the other and promised to hold onto it for as long as Phoenix needed to get they funds together. Alright another goal he could set for himself!
This day really was turning out to be even more lucky than he had expected! Taking a quick photo of the box top on his phone to show Spirit later, Phoenix thanked Mr. McGrumfy and promised he wouldn't take too long getting the sP together. With that he hurried out the door and dashed off down the street towards Bits And Bytes, to an already large crowd gathered around the shop's entrance. Oh drat, he had dallied too long? Looks like he would have to wait even longer to get his hands on a copy of that Betamon game. Huh with all this waiting around his patience level seemed to be getting better.
Scanning the crowd he waved madly once he spotted his friend who had his nose buried in a comic book. "Sorry I'm late I had not expected to see something really funny at the Vintage Toy Shop. Here take a look!" He flashed the picture on his phone to Spirit who nearly fell over from laughter. Both pals shared in the laughs as the crowd around them grew bigger. Soon Nico was at the door, opening it wide and calling out to the crowds. He announced that he had about two hundred and fifty copies of the new Betamon: Atebus game in stock. Looks like everyone here was going to be able to get a copy, that was great!
"Please tell me you got the snacks and energy drinks Spirit?"
"Of course I did, you made sure to have an extra plug handy for my chargers?"
"Yup, always! I bet you 100sP I can beat the game before you do!"
"You're on! Loser has to do the others laundry for a week!"
"Ew no way Spirit.... how about homework?"
"Yeah, that actually works out even better"
Both Phoenix and Spirit grinned at each other as they made their way into Bits and Bytes to finally nab a copy of their game. Today really was a great day!
