It's hard when you don't have any friends!
Mina is the most confused pet in Subeta. One day as a kitten she chased a yarn ball down an alley near her home and before she could catch up to it, she was grabbed! Long days and nights filled with pain and fear stretched ahead of the small feli, the only thing keeping her from giving up was the sound of her mother's purr.
It was a Tuesday when she escaped, the careless man who came to clean her cage forgot to close the latch all the way on his way out to answer a text from his girlfriend.
Mina dashed out of her cage, hot on the heels of the cleaning man. He never even noticed as she scampered out through the door, right as it slammed shut. She only lost a small bit of her tail, but the price was worth her freedom.
Mina tried to find her home, but everything looked different and no one seemed to know her mother or where she might have gone off to. The devastated little kitten finally fell asleep in a mud puddle and dreamt of nothing.
When she awoke she was in a clean, warm room, tucked under a pile of down comforters. Sitting up she saw the room was decorated and filled with toys. There were balls of yarn and ribbons, books stacked to the ceiling and a dainty white table set with a real china tea set.
While her eyes clouded with tears, a quiet voice spoke to her.
"Welcome home Mina! I hope you like your new room. I know you'll want to run and play with the others, but you are very ill. This is your room while you get better."
Mina nodded and later found out she had spoken to her adoptive mother, a woman known for taking care of endangered children.
Mina still can't play outside with the others, but while she recovers she has learned to serve tea. Her plushies are her faithful tea time companions and while she can't go on trips quite yet, she collects gems the other children bring her from their trips.
