My name is Khanaria. At least, that is what I was called before I was Lost. I don't remember much of my old life. All I know is that I was a clockwork toy. A dove. But that all changed. Everything changed when I was Lost.

I still remember what it was like to have a home... I only ever saw the inside of the living room, where all the toys were kept. The room was always meticulously clean, with all the windows sparkling when they caught the light. The walls were made of rugged bricks, red and quite painful to scrape against. Some fat, well-worn couches surrounded the cheery little fire roaring away in the hearth, as if crowding around for some warmth. It was always so calm and peaceful. The children would come in to play with us every day after their schooling hours were over. They'd burst in the front door, and day by day, they'd run about, knocking over cushions and throwing dolls around. When their bedtime came, they retreated into their rooms, sneaking longing glances as they passed the toy basket, while their parents stood by, firmly telling them to go to sleep. It was not much, but it was our home. And I believed it to be my home, forever. At least, I used to, until the Cleaning.

...and I still remember the day I was Lost. It happened every year. The grown-ups would flail around, looking under sofas and peering into dusty corners, sneezing as they did so. Sometimes they found odd things as they did so, but they weren't particularly careful. More often than not, things would wind up lost.

And when they do, there's not many people who even care. Even if they did, there is nothing more they can do but watch. The Lost cannot be saved. The action will be as futile as a mouse attempting to turn back the tide with a thimble.

It is true that all paths eventually lead to the land of the Lost.

That is why so many toys eventually make it there. Though the location shifts often, and the land is never anchored properly in any one place, they find it. There are many things that go to the land of the Lost, not only toys. Broken watches, defective furniture... everything, at one point, goes to the land of the Lost. And when they do, they never leave again.

WIP. WOW khanaria, you little miss sunshine. This is so depressing. I really need to work on a pet character that's more cheerful.
