Right. Wrong. Weak. Strong. Fall back again.
I haven’t seen them yet. Three weeks and I haven’t seen them. And I call myself a professional. Ha! It’s not like I haven’t been looking. I’ve been hunting for them. High and low. In all the dodgy corners of Shadow Glen.
Now don’t get me wrong. When I first received this assignment it ate away at my conscience. These two are out there doing what WE should be doing. Finding the dirty crims, ruffing them up a bit, and locking them up for as long as possible. Keeping the people safe. Are we doing it? Not really. Not good enough.
I know what they’ve gone through. I know what they’ve seen. What they’re still seeing doing this almost every night. Now it’s at the point where I have to do my job. Bring them in. And I sure as shit would rather be the one bringing them in. Go easy on them. Thank them for doing what we all want to do but can’t because we have a badge.
But I haven’t seen them. Three weeks and I still haven’t seen them. And I call myself a professional.
