Xandra's older brother, though not exactly by adoption. They don't like to talk about genetics in the Green family. Bartimaeus is a big ole' goof ball, preferring to spend his days lounging around eating and making jokes. Though he might seem dumb compared to his sister Xandra and adopted sibling Jo, he's actually got a pretty sharp wit behind his jovial nature and laziness-and he tends to observe things others miss. He loves cooking food as much as he enjoys eating it, and will spend hours pouring over recipe books and slaving away in the kitchen-it's one of the few things that can get him up off the couch. He also enjoys reading joke books, often bouncing joke ideas off of Jo-since their less likely to go after him then Xandra. There are few things that can make Bartimaeus Green angry, one of them is hurting his family and friends. And an angry Bartimaeus is not someone you want to be around.
