Draugen, from Norse “draugr” meaning ghost.
A water creature.
Draugen is the ghost of a man who died at sea.
Characteristics:
A Draugen has superhuman strength and when it wants, it can increase his size and weight.
The bodies are said to be blackened and swollen with decay.
They smell horrible as the body is partially decayed.
How to Kill a Draugen:
To kill a Draugen is not very easy.
Iron weapons could injure a Draugen, but don't kill them.
As weapons don't work you have to wrestle a Draugen to its grave to defeat it.
Once the Draugen is dead (again), the body has to be destroyed by beheading or burning and scattering the ashes into the sea.
