It's so hard to keep lying, smiling in vain
For so many years I've been taking
innocent soil, hey baby, loss is my game
No remorse, no repent
Still to you I'm heaven sent..."
Friedrick was there during the great pandemic that swallowed the entire planet, he saw everything with his very own eyes. He was just an intern back then, a trainee working in that fancy enterprise when it all happened. He wasn't there because he liked science, though. He never actually did care about the classes, he was as uninterested in school related things as a teenage could possibly be. His father insisted he should work there because it would mean something to his future. Or was it? Something like that. You know, parents. And without pay, otherwise Friedrick would spend it all on the nearest liquor store.
He was too lazy for that job and he'd stroll around the building and fill this paper and that other, go fetch some coffee and spin around in the laboratory's chair just because he could. What would they say? That building, in a certain way, belonged to him seeing his father owned it. What would they do? Well...
If Friedrick payed a little more attention to those papers, he could see something was going on right behind their noses. If he cared a tiny bit about his father's company, he could have seen it coming and perhaps he'd be able to put an end to it before it was too late. Instead, he just approved the projects, any projects. Any one at all. And when the pandemic happened...
He was one of the first subetans to become infected, together with coworkers. What he thought was some effect of some drug he could've taken the night before turned out to spread through his body, and spread fast enough. His beautiful wool thickened and rot, and it smelled like death itself. His young skin was decomposing and perishing, yet he could not die — not that he tried, he didn't care that much.
He doesn't like to talk about this story much nowadays. He won't even say his full name, going simply by Ick. The laboratory and the enterprise are long gone, but he surely can be found roaming its ruins. He sells whatever leachate that comes dripping out of his corroded wool, and there are some buyers. He'll label them to cure something, to help something in their bodies, and people buy his vials, drink his product and so the corruption spreads. And Ick knows it has this effect. He just... He needs to keep doing it. He inherited the enterprise, after all...
I don't need a reason to break you
Just keep that mouth wide open
And drain me, my darling, drain me, my darling!
I don't need a care if you need me"
