The Hyrulian sun shone brightly down on the Arbeiters Grounds within the Gerudo desert. The ancient prison crumbling away with time. Ganon had been defeated once and for all.
"Well... I guess this is farewell, huh?" Midna sighed, breaking her lips into a small smile as she looked to the hero and the fair maiden, Princess Zelda.
"Light and shadow can't mix, as we all know." She continued.
"But..."
"Never forget that there's another world bound to this one." She said, smiling to the pair as her robe blew in the soft, desert breeze. The Twilight portal eminating light from behind her as it waited for her departure.
"Shadow and light are two sides of the same coin...One cannot exist without the other." Zelda countered, her soft lips breathing the words of Nayru's wisdom. "I know now the reason the goddesses keft the Mirror of Twilight in this world..." Link remained silent, his eyes looking to the newly 'reborn' Midna in her tall yet slender Twilight Princess form.
"They left it because it was their design that we should meet." Zelda finished, crossing her arms as she spoke. "Yes... That is what I believe." Midna looked up to the pair, blinking as she let out a soft, friendly smile.
"Zelda... Your words are kind, and your heart is true." She placed her hands on her hips, closing her eyes as she lost herself in thought; "If all in Hyrule are like you..."
"Then maybe you'll do all right." She said finally, her face returning neutral as she moved towards the mirror, turning her back towards the maiden and hero, Zelda looked on as a small breeze brushed her braids.
As Midna approached, the Twilight steps to the portal appeared, the portals rings turning like cogs in a machine. It was almost time.
"Thank you..." Midna said, as she turned to the duo ascending the stairs.
"Well, the princess spoke truly: as long as that mirror's around, we could meet again..."
Midna closed her eyes for a moment, gulping as she no longer knew what to say. a single shimmering tear forming in her eye.
"Link..."
A small sparkle of a tear floated from her skin like a fairy, slowly drifting on the breeze infront of her. She reached her arm up, brushing the tear with her slender hand.
"I..."
The tear floated towards the mirror slowly, Midna kept her eyes closed as it began to float closer and closer towards it's destination.
"See you later..."
As the tear laiden itself into the center of the mirror, the surface began to crack. Spreading out to the rest of the mirror, shocking the Hylian duo.
Midna rushed up to the twilight portal, turning back to the pair a final time to tilt her head and smile a sincere smile as the mirror activated for the last time. Sending beams of shimmering light around the twilight princess as she disappeared into a ray of shimmering sparkles.
Link gasped as the mirror suddenley smashed into a million pieces, shimmering in the Gerudo sunshine as they flew in multiple directions. The princess of wisdow remaining quiet with her hands grasped together on the crest of her dress quietly watching as the portal disappeared for the final time...
"Zelda... Your words are kind, and your heart is true."
